CHAPTER 8 :
❀ WORK DAY ❀
________________________________________________M I R A Y A 'S POV
"No."
"Yes."
"No. Please." I literally begged him this time.
"Yes."
"Please, Mr. Singhania. I promise to never trouble you again please." I pouted with my dove eyes filled with shine.
"No more arguments, Meera." He said sternly.
" It's M-I-R-A-Y-A" This time I pronounced the letters of name to him.
"Meera, see–", He tried to explain but I cut him off.
"It'll be embarrassing, Raghav." I whined.
"You know it's important. He–"
Cutting him off again, I decided to put up my point to him. "Raghav." I purposely said his name, knowing it always works in my favor, looking into his eyes , I put my left hand on his right hand and continued, " You know I hate unnecessary attention from people, I just do not like when someone looks at me. It is very awkward. And I know you care about me and the little one, but people will notice him-" I paused, now pointing towards the man with my eyes. " How will it feel when everyone will keep on staring at him and then at me, thinking that I'm getting spoiled by the billionaire Raghav Singhania?"
"I do not give a shit of what people say." He stated. "And since you are now my wife, Mrs.Miraya Raghav Singhania, you need to start socializing." Before I can argue on his point. "Also, you are doing so well in your career, a Data Scientist leading a team of seventy-five employees at Databrixx, which is in the Forbes top 10 companies, you should start to grow your network and work on this. And I'm serious about this. Also, getting spoiled by your only husband is not something you should be ashamed of now." He declared , basically not giving me any chance to argue.
"Raghav." I whispered, looking down at my untouched sandwich.
"Drop the act now. He's for your protection and he will follow you everywhere. So you better be a good girl." He took back his hand and started eating his sandwich.
I peeked at him in anger which was fuming in my nose, getting up. I decided to skip breakfast, before I could move towards the living area, he held my wrist and slowly dropped his hand below to hold my fingers softly, "Finish the breakfast first. Then, you are free to stay angry." Pulling me back and making me sit on the previous spot.
"I'm not hungry." I started sternly, crossing my hands across my chest, looking away while staring at the beach filled with people.
"Eat for the little one. You have a long day ahead." I rolled my eyes at his statement. First, he gets on my nerves and now has the audacity to tease me.
"Raghav, please understand –"
"Look, he has a gun." I gasped looking at the well-built body man with a fully dressed black suit, pointing a gun at me.
And that's exactly when I shifted my gaze back at Mr. Singhania with my wide open eyes and mouth and he stuffed a piece of sandwich in my mouth, clearly shutting my argument up.
"Chew it, Meera. You look like a puffer-fish." He passed a chuckle shaking his head at me clearly controlling his laughter, while gesturing to the man with the gun with his hand to put the thing down.
"Yo-cannt-door-diss" I spoke, only to notice him biting his lower lip to control his laughter.
I chewed fast, and took a sip of the juice, glaring at him.
