"Ewwwwwww"

The most irritating familiar voice pulled me out of the insane thoughts in my mind, causing us both to flinch and pull away from each other's hold. Turning myself around, I looked at the woman who just ruined a moment with my wife.

"Get out of our house." I ordered the unannounced woman, who has the same brown eyes as mine.

She never fails to break into our home.

Meera shifted closer to me and held my one arm to shield herself from the woman.

"I won't. I'm here to meet my beloved brother and my loving best-friend." She replied sternly, with a smile.

"I'm not your best-friend." My wife announced, causing me to stop myself from letting out a chuckle.

"Oh! Really?" The woman, who is unfortunately my sister, starts walking inside with long strides, plastering a livid face, welcoming herself without my permission into our home. Again. "Forgot me already, sweetheart? The only person who was with you during your college days? Your flatmate ? Your bench-mate? Your only best-friend?"

Sweetheart? Seriously? She didn't just call my wife- sweetheart.

Love. I call her love. So that she feels special whenever I call her that.

I think twice before calling my wife anything. And she just cannot say it so easily to her.

Meera's hold tightened around my arms pulling me out of my thoughts.

She's scared of her loud tone.

"She doesn't recall you." I stated. "Make your way out before I ask Kabir to do so. Remember last time?"

The woman stiffens.

"B-Bhai"

No. Not again.

"Bhai. Please."

Don't melt at the word. You know her. Don't melt.

"Bhai. It's Raksha Bandhan today. I'm here for it. Gauri Maa and Kavya Aunty sent me."

Shit. How did it skip my mind?

I even forgot to call Adira. She must've been waiting for my gifts, like every year. Sometimes, I wonder how she's raised to be so different from me and this trouble- maker.

And now she isn't here. So, I've to bear this woman's presence.

My eyes met her pleading ones.

Dammit. Not again.

The only day I cannot deny her anything. She's been through a lot in her life. And, I don't want her to suffer more. Yet, how can I ignore the fact that she's always ill treated my wife. More than my wife or the woman I loved, she was her best-friend. Her only friend. Nevertheless, she still chose to give up on Meera and move back to the mansion. Even though Meera kept contacting her and visiting us at Singhania mansion on weekends, all she did was to ignore her. All she did was to blame her and make fun of her for her choices.

I totally agree that Meera chose the wrong guy. He never even deserved an ounce of attention from my wife.

"Okay. Come inside." I looked over my shoulder at my wife as she commented, "It's alright, Raghav. She's your sister too. I'll prepare some snacks."
