Chapter Fifty Seven
Adam almost dropped the phone in alarm. Shaking, he put it away in the back pocket of his jeans. Brigitte turned up.
"I know," said Brigitte. "The Nexus is being invaded."
"Any idea by what?"
"Your guess is as good as mine."
"I'm armed with bow and arrows," said Malcolm helpfully.
"Uh...yes," said Adam.
Brigitte was more helpful.
"We need more weapons," she said. "I think we're in for the fight for our lives. The Nexus is about to become one big trap for us and there is nowhere to run to. We make our stand here so I'm going to the workshop to rig up some weapons."
The Bug entered the dining room.
"The very bloke," said Brigitte. "Come with me young man, I need your weapons and your expertise in weapons."
"You got it," said the Bug. "Who's invading?"
"We'll soon find out," said Adam.
Brigitte and the Bug left the dining room. George appeared.
"We're being invaded," he said.
"Yeah we know," said Adam. "By what?"
"This person may be able answer that."
Captain Trinity strode into the dining room.
"We're being invaded," he said.
"We know," said Adam. "By what?"
Captain Trinity shook his head. "Unknown, but I have summoned the cosmic champions including your father and mother. They will be here shortly. Also Meknos, the ultimate android is on his way. He is a seriously tough hombre."
A crack appeared on the far wall of the dining room. The crack became larger and masonry fell from the crack and something huge advanced into the room.
George said to Adam. "I think you and I had better make ourselves scarce. Now would be good."
