THE TWIGS AND BRANCHES THAT LITTERED THE FOREST FLOOR SNAPPED AND CRACKED AS ANNABEL WALKED AROUND IT.

The teenager took a deep breath in, breathing in all of Earth's natural elements. She'd been walking around for the past twenty minutes and still couldn't manage to find her way back home.

Annabel swore she wasn't lost until she ultimately had to agree with the voice in her head that she yes, was in fact lost.

"Who are you?"

Annabel jumped, her heart thrumming against her chest as she turned to face a shirtless boy, most likely around her age. "Holy shit!"

His eyebrows raised, a hint of a smile on his face as he crossed his arms over his chest, "I'm assuming that's not your name, yeah?"

"Uh, Annabel Summers. Me and my sister just moved in here."

His slight standoffish demeanor immediately crumbled as excitement shone through, "Wait, you guys bought that little house, like, right on the border of La Push and Forks!"

"Yeah," she beamed, feeling a little more comfortable with the man, "Who're you?"

"Jared Cameron," he introduced, "I live in La Push."

She nodded her head, her smile still on her lips, "I honestly don't know what town we live in; neither does Caroline. We haven't quite deduced that yet in our day of living here."

"That house is technically considered apart of Forks. It's like right on the border but if you had the map out, you'd see it's very obviously there."

"Oh, thank you," she laughed, moving a little closer to him, "So, what brings you out here?"

The boy looked around him, "Well, me and my friends come out here often. We've all grown up here so we know these woods like the back of our hands."

A light of relief shown in the girls eyes, "Good. Then you can help me find my way home,"

He laughed, "Already getting lost?"

"Unfortunately, that's something I excel at."

"Who's your friend?" Caroline asked as she walked in the home. She'd just finished a shift at the hospital as Annabel worked on dinner.

"Oh, that's Jared," she informed her, her hands working through the dough, "he lives in La Push and he helped me find my way back home."

Caroline nodded her head, setting her keys and bag on the bench in the entry hallway before kicking her shoes off, "That was nice of him,"
