ANNABEL HAD JUST EXITED THE SHOWER WHEN A KNOCK SOUNDED AT HER DOOR.
She turned to her speaker, shushing the music and wrapped a towel around herself. She was confused considering Caroline never knocked and the only other person that was on the house when she got in was Antonio.
"Hello?" As the door swung open, a smile rose to Bel's lips, "Oh, hey, Bella."
Annabel let her friend into the room as she walked into the bathroom and cracked the door. Bella sat down on the bed, a set of nerves rising in her throat, "You found out."
As Annabel finished putting her clothes on, her heart seemed to sink to her stomach. She opened the door as she adjusted her shirt, "You knew?"
"I found out not too long ago." Bella revealed.
The blonde almost wanted to be mad at her friend. All these people knew this imperative secret about her friends in La Push and not one of them felt like it was necessary enough to inform her.
As if she could see the gears turning in Annabel's head, Bella spoke up, "I didn't tell you because it wasn't my place. Only they're supposed to tell people."
Her rise in frustration subsided as reason fell in its place. "Oh,"
"I'm sorry, Bels. I didn't mean to keep secrets from you, I just didn't want to break their trust." An almost guilty look appeared on Bella's pale features and Annabel's face softened. If only she knew the guilt came for an entirely different reason.
Bel sighed as she sat down next to Bella. "Isabella Swan. I may not have known you long but I know you didn't mean it to upset me. It's okay. I'm not upset with you."
Bella nodded her head and damn her curiosity but she felt a new need to pry, "Are you upset with them?"
Annabel's honey brown eyes moved to the floor as she fiddled with her hands. "I'm not upset with anyone, really. I've been thinking it over since I got home. Honestly, if they'd have just told they were a what they are, I'd of probably thought they were all insane and never went back there again."
Bella giggled, "I definitely found out in an interesting way, that's for sure."
"How did you?" Bel asked as her inquisitive personality took over.
The Swan girl sighed as she threw her head back, "Well, firstly I punched Paul."
A howl of laughter broke from Annabel's throat. Bella playfully rolled her eyes. "You punched Paul?"
"Sure did. And I sure as hell paid for it too," Bella told her, "he got super angry and that's when he shifted. I tried to get away when Jacob came out and did the same. Scared me shitless."
