THE SOUND OF A ROCK HITTING ANNABEL'S WINDOW SNAPPED HER ATTENTION AWAY FROM HER LAPTOP.
She furrowed her brows, her confusion settling into slight worry as she rounded over to it. Her heart was mere moments away from sinking to her stomach until she saw Jared with the big goofy grin he always seemed to have.
She sighed out of relief, the blood rushing back to her face as she slightly opened the window. "Jared?"
"Hi, Summers!" he greeted, waving his large hand in the air.
She smiled out of disbelief, "What're you doing here? It's like six or something."
He grinned, "Don't tell you go lights out at this time, Annabel."
She rolled her eyes, "I don't but normally random guys don't throw rocks at strange girls windows at this time."
He shook his head, "Not random or strange. We know each other," he smiled.
Annabel laughed, "For two days?"
"Might as well of been two decades."
Lady's burly bark could be heard behind Annabel, the dog's unruly behavior confusing her, "Ladybug, why're you barking? You normally don't ever bark."
Jared's stomach bubbled, "It's that a dog?"
Bel furrowed her brows with a smile as she went to pick up the Yorkshire Terrier, "No, it's a cat. C'mon, Jared. Don't tell me you're scared of a small, harmless dog," she grinned. When Lady's growl could be heard the moment she spotted Jared, Annabel grimaced, "mostly harmless."
He rolled his eyes, "Whatever. I came to ask if you wanted to come to a bonfire on the La Push Beach."
Annabel's eyes widened with excitement, "That's a thing?"
His annoyance was quickly lifted as a grin overtook his lips, "Yes, Ma'am. We have them, like, all the time. You'd also be able to meet all my friends and my girlfriend."
"Oh, I bet she's so cool."
"Why," he smiled, "because I'm cool?"
"No, because loser guys always get the cool girls. The hot ones too," she smirked.
Jared scoffed, "Just change or whatever. I'll be out here waiting."

The walk to the beach wasn't very long. It seemed Jared had all the twists and turns of the forest down to memory and had memorized the fastest route.
