WHEN BEL FINALLY OPENED HER EYES, NIGHT HAD BEFELL ON THE SMALL TOWN.
With the bright light of Carlisle office beaming into her skull and the loud bickering of Antonio and Emmett, Annabel awoke with a startle.
Antonio was first to notice, a warm smile falling on his lips, "You're awake,"
"Welcome back, Sunshine." Emmett joked.
She looked between the two burly men, her head spinning and her mind clouded with everything she had just learned in such a small amount of time.
A sigh escaped her lips as she threw herself back onto the couch she had been placed on, "Why am I even surprised at this point."
Emmett shares a look with Antonio before deciding to speak up, "So, we don't have to have to give you the talk?"
Her nose crinkled at the man's wordage, "That sounds far from what you meant to say, Emmett."
Antonio let out a howl of laughter at the girls words, "Stupid,"
Then, her mind only flooded with Caroline. Her sister was dating a vampire. She quickly sat up, her eyes closing in on Antonio, "Wait, if you're a vampire—,"
"Caroline's dating a vampire. Yeah, I know." He told her.
Her eyes narrowed ever so slightly, "How old are you?"
A sigh left his lips, not looking forward to having to do this twice. His goal was to tell both girls at the same time so he didn't have to answer all the same questions. "I'm eighty-seven."
With wide eyes, Bel gasped, "My sister's dating a grandpa!"
It was Emmett's turn to laugh at the girls words, "She got you there, dude!"
"I'm not a grandpa. I'd have to have grandchildren to be a grandpa and frankly, I was too young when I died to have that. Twenty-three to be exact."
"So you're twenty-three in human years but eighty-seven in vampire years?"
Emmett hummed at the girls knowledge, "Sorta,"
"And do you guys know..."
It didn't take a genius to guess what the girl was referring to, "The shifters?" Antonio guessed. When she nodded his head, both boys looked surprised, "you know about them?"
She deadpanned. "Paul didn't want to keep a huge secret from me like someone is doing with my sister."
Antonio winced at her insinuation. Her accurate insinuation. "I'm not trying to keep secrets from her. I just don't think Caroline's gonna take it well and I sort of don't want to tell her right before she has to go to work or something."
