IF ANNABEL WASN'T STANDING RIGHT THERE, PAUL LAHOTE WOULD HAVE MAULED JACOB.

Her laughter bubbled the air, mixed in with Emily's as the two girls worked around the kitchen. Kim was there too, but her form of help is to sit down and join in when something seems fun.

Jacob and Paul were currently partaking in a stare-down with Jared and Sam keeping an eye on them in an attempt to catch a riff before it happens.

Bella sat off to the side, joining on any conversation she felt the need to but mostly just kept off to herself as Jacob had more important matters to attend to.

As Embry, Quil, and the Clearwater's walked through the door for their lunch break, Annabel was practically howling with laughter, "Oh, my. I knew the boys over here were rowdy but that beats it!"

Emily giggled, "Oh, sweetie, these boys beat rowdy everyday."

Kim hummed with a smile as Leah Clearwater just barely choked on her spit in an attempt to remind them that there just so happened to be a girl amongst them.

"We wouldn't forget you, Leah," Kim smiled as she fumbled with her nails aimlessly, "you're just not as bad as the guys."

A wave of 'Heys!' sounded through the room but none of them cared to settle their egos. "I'll have you know that my rowdiness brought Annabel to us."

"Your rowdiness had nothing to do with me," she giggled.

"It very much did," he defended as he sat more straight in his seat to appear more obvious. Paul let off his glare but he was still seething at Jacob, "if I hadn't annoyed Kim that day with my rowdiness, she wouldn't have thrown my basketball into the woods and told me 'Go fetch'!"

A bubble of laughter sounded from Annabel's chest, "Oh, I'm chocking that onto my mental clipboard of things to say to guys who annoy me," she said as she finished sandwiching all the sandwiches that she and Emily made, "so you'll probably be hearing that some time soon."

His mouth went ajar as Kim laughed, "I said it at the bonfire, I'll say it again: I love this girl."

Annabel sprawled herself onto the couch in the living room, a larger than life bucket of popcorn sat on her lap with tears streaming down her face.

"Don't you say it," she mumbled out under her tears but it didn't matter. Her small sobs turned into a breakdown with just a few words being said.

She moped away as the television played the same movie she always found herself watching when she was alone. The same movie her sister refused to ever watch again — especially with Annabel.

"The hell did I just walk into,"

Annabel turned her head with a start to find Jared standing in the entry way of the Summers residence. He was staring at her with wide eyes and looked like he was debating whether or not to leave.

"The hell are you doing here?" She asked, her tone laced with confusion.

He grinned as he made up his mind to stay. Walking away from the entrance and jumping onto the couch next to Bel, he said, "I just happened to be around the area and decided to stop by."

"By breaking into my house?" Asked Annabel with a questioning brow.

Jared rolled his eyes as he kicked his feet up onto the couch, "No. It was unlocked," the boy closed his eyes, the comfort of the couch nearly putting him asleep, "which, by the way, is incredibly dangerous and you most definitely need to work on not doing that."

Using the remote, Annabel smacked Jared's legs for him to move them off the couch. He hissed in pain as he rubbed his chin, planting his feet on the ground, "What's gonna get me — a damn bear?"

If only the girl knew precisely what could get her — door locked or unlocked. "You never know. These woodland creatures have been gettin' smart."

She snickered, "So the opposite of you?"

Jared's mouth fell agape, "You have literally known me like three days or something and are so damn mean to me," he pouted, "and I'll have you know that I'm very smart. My mom told me so."

"Does your mom also tell you that you're her pretty boy and that you're so strong."

He furrowed his brows, "Well — sometimes..."

Annabel snickered, "Yeah, welcome to every boy mom, like, ever." The teenager crossed her arms over her chest, a sigh deep within her throat.

"You know, I'm like two seconds from leaving you here alone to get mauled by the bears. You're grumpy today; something up?"

It was now Annabel's jaw that fell open, "I'm not grumpy!" she defended herself, "You just broke into my house."

Jared waved her off, "We're besties; it's my job."

Bel crinkled her nose in disgust, "We're definitely not that."

"We're not besties?"

"Absolutely not, dude,"

"What if I wanna be your bestie?"

"Stop saying bestie!"
