ANNABEL SUMMERS COULDN'T BE HAPPIER AS SHE WATCHED PAUL TRY TO COOK.

A giggle solicited from her the second he poured too much seasoning into the bowl of soup. Paul gave her a glare that only caused her to laugh more.

"Don't know why you're laughin'. You're horrible at cooking."

Bel audibly gasped at his words as a playful hand found its way to her chest, "You said my cooking wasn't that bad."

Jared snickered, "He lied."

Annabel pouted as she looked around the room to find some newspaper sitting on the table next to her. She pulled the rubber band off, grasping it in a way that it won't unroll before smacking Jared on the head with it. "The hell!" He yelped while holding his head.

A hmph left her as she crossed her arms over her chest. "I am not a bad cook."

Emily covered her mouth in an attempt to keep out of the heat but failed when she saw Bel's eyes move to her. "I didn't say anything."

"Why does everyone think I'm a bad cook!" She went back to her pout, one that almost had Paul switching up once more and telling her she really wasn't a bad cook.

"'I honestly don't even know what all seasonings I put in that mess.'," The boy eyed her with an expression that could only be described as a grimace.

With a wave of her hand and a scoff, Annabel rolled her eyes. "You know, me doing that didn't stop you guys from gobbling my food down before."

All eyes moved to the blonde, some far more flabbergasted than the other. Quil began to shake his head profusely, "Say you're kidding. Say you're kidding, Annabel,"

"Oh, but I'm not." She grinned.

Groans left everyone's lips apart from Emily and Kim who just shared matching grins on their own faces. "I coulda told you guys that the second she pulled her first dish out to feed you heathens." Emily laughed.

Sam, who stood by her side, gawked at his fiancée with pure shock, "And you didn't?"

With a shrug of her shoulders and a laugh leaving Annabel's lips, the woman retorted, "S'pose its revenge for you guys never leaving me any food."

Paul pulled into the same driveway he had been for weeks with ease. Getting out of the car, he rushed over to open Annabel's for her.

Bel giggled behind her hand, using her other to accept his and get out of the car, "You're so bizarre."

"You didn't have much to complain about when you were gossiping away with Caroline about it the other night." At the sight of her eyes widening and her jaw falling open, Paul smirked.

"You sly dog!" A howl of laughter left her at Paul's now agape jaw.

"Dog jokes are not funny." Deadpanned Paul.

"I beg to differ, actually." Annabel grinned up at the boy just as they finally made it to the Summers porch, "Thank you for bringing me by the Rez today. I had a good time — as I always do."

"Trust me, it's no weight off my back to bring you. You're always welcome, Em said so herself."

"Em would welcome the bears into her home if Sam allowed her."

Paul laughed, "Yeah, I guess you're right."

"I'm always right," Annabel grinned.

"Oh, get your ass inside," Paul rolled his eyes but still couldn't find it in himself to be upset.

Bel smiled up at the shifter, her heart skipping a beat just slightly when she noticed he had a matching one on his lips. "Goodnight, Paul."

"Goodnight, Annie."

Then he was off, using his skills to his advantage as he found his way back into La Push. A smile was left on Bel's face as she made it into the house finally.

The youngest Summers sister had practically jumped out of her own skin when she saw her sister sitting on the living room couch, a large grin on her face.

"What's got you all smiley?" Annabel asked, a query look on her face.

Caroline scoffed, "Could ask you the same thing."

"Well, I asked first so get to answerin', Blondey."

Though annoyed at the name, Caroline sobered up quickly when the smile reached her lips once more, "Toni asked me if I'd be his girlfriend today!"

The squeal that left Annabel Summers lips could probably be heard all the way at the Cullen's household at the news the eldest blonde shared with her, "No way,"

"Yes way!" Caroline gleamed.

Her keys long forgotten on the floor and her shoes and coat kicked off somewhere on the ground, Bel rushed over to her sister, her mind set on getting all the details possible on the new couple, "Oh, my God — Oh, my God! I need all the details; how'd he ask? How'd you react? What'd you say?!"

A cacophony of giggles escaped Caroline's mouth as she grabbed each of her sister's hands in hers, "Slow down, Tiger!" taking deep breaths in and getting herself calm, Bel stared her sister down with a smile as she awaited the story, "Okay, so we were at Stefani's when he asked. It was even the same table from our first date! He said, and I quote, 'Caroline Summers, would you allow me to be your boyfriend? I promise not to pester you like your little sister does.'"

"I don't pester!" Annabel scoffed.

"At first I, like, just stared at him. I probably looked like a dear in headlights, honestly. But then, I realized what he asked me and practically screamed yes!"

"Oh, yes, yes, yes!" Annabel screeched as she pulled Caroline into a hug. The embrace was warm and perfect. Something that the girls hadn't had in a long time, "This is amazing. I told you I heard wedding bells."

Caroline smacked her sister on the back with a laugh, "Oh, shut up and let me pretend you didn't execute this whole thing perfectly."

Annabel was pretty sure that, in this moment, she realized how much she needed this. The moments with just Care and Bels. Because with Caroline, Bel was happy.

With Caroline, Annabel was at home.

And when she was at home, she didn't feel lonely or scared like she seemed to feel with others sometimes. When she was with Caroline, she didn't feel like the parent-less girl she had been for the past seven years.

Annabel felt loved. She felt seen.
