Gertrude Klein wished she had not came now. And she had been actually enjoying herself to the point that she was considering easing up on Sol seeing Luci again. Although they probably already were , she noted with thinned lips as her narrowed eyes took in the two young people with their heads together and rambling on about something technical or other. Not that Luci was a bad child, she acknowledged reluctantly. To the contrary she seemed to be improving Sol on some level. On a lot of levels. Running about with her Sol had actually lost ten pounds which had impressed her and his doctor. And his grades were improving. Not a lot but better than they were. She just couldn't move beyond what was happening to her other grandson Jim.

Although, she thought as she looked over at Spencer in his wheelchair, if Jim was a part of that robbery he most likely should face the consequences. Just like that mother of Jim's had to. Of course her real beef was with that woman.

The big mouthed drunken cop who had shot her grandson.

" Don't you think you have enough to drink? ," she said primly , her eyes glued to Faith who turned to her with a hard look.

Faith sneered ," No. Actually I don't think I have drank enough. Why don't you go visit Jimmy in lock up? Tell him not to drop the soap. My shoulder still hurts from his damn bullet. "

Luci was desperate to change the subject so she piped up with," I start at Barrington Academy after Labor Day. I saw a picture of my uniform. It's hideous geeky. "

That prompted laughter from several at the table and Gertrude said," It's a good school. I wish Sol could attend a school as good but it's so expensive and he can't get an academic scholarship. "

Richard settled himself back down next to Nigel who leaned forward to whisper in his ear," It's ok but thank you for playing my hero." Richard smiled at him even as he said," Mrs. Klein, you should check into the low income grants at the school. I'm on the board and I have to say the financial aid options are vast. " He looked over at the two children and noted their closeness. " If you want I can actually email you about a grant that would fit your grandson. "

Faith snorted," And his heart grew even more."

Andrew stood up again and strode without a word over to Faith Lane. They looked at each other. Then he reached down and pulled her up to her unsteady feet.

As she swayed in his firm grip she shot out," Get your damn hands off me, old man. "

Andrew shook his head. " Not until we get to the living room. We need to talk, young lady. "
