When Richard and Nigel stepped back into the foyer of Richard's elegant condo Richard shocked Nigel by gently pushing him onto the wall of his hallway, always mindful of the broken arm and ribs. His mouth found Nigel's in a deep passionate kiss that Nigel responded to with his own lips as well as his dick which was starting to wake up and bulge through his tight navy blue pants.

" Richard," Nigel whispered against Richard's lips.

" You are beautiful," Richard said firmly and fervently. " Inside and out. You are gorgeous. Fuck Joe Jacobs and Faith Lane. Fuck anyone that judges you based on burns and a missing eye. You're beautiful. Never forget that. "

Nigel felt like crying. Men had called him sexy before. Hot , yes. Incredible in bed. But nobody had ever called him beautiful before. The fact that this man could look at him today and say that ? It made him love this man even more. How was he ever going to take when it was over between them? Because he knew that it would eventually end. Nigel had never had good luck in his whole life. He always ended up on the losing side of life.

But he didn't want to lose this man.

" Sleep in my bed tonight," Richard whispered. " We don't have to do anything. I'm not prepared for anything really. " He hesitated and then continued in a very ashamed tone. " I've never been with a man. I wouldn't know what to do..... I just want to hold you tonight. Is that alright ? "

Nigel nodded at him. " It's more than bloody alright. I'd actually like that. And don't you listen to the silly drunk either. Or anyone. You have a heart. And it's enormous. It's why I love you so much. "

Faith didn't go home. She went up to the guest room at her brother and brother in law's house and fell on the bed with all her clothes still on. She clutched in one hand her cell phone and in the other a business card that Andrew had given her after scribbling his cell phone number on it.

She wanted to rip the card up. She wanted to but didn't. Instead she put his contact information into her phone. Just in case she ever chose to use it. In the future. Which she very much doubted she would.

She then tapped out a message and sent it.

Faith: What the fuck happened between us?

After a couple minutes she got a response to her text message.

Nita Browne: Nothing important apparently. Look. We should keep this strictly professional between us from now on. We're colleagues and that's it. Congratulations on making homicide. Take care.
