CHAPTER 13

I didn't pay much attention to him, and I ate the last piece of his food. I'm still chewing the food in my mouth when suddenly a group of students enters our room.

I just watched them while still chewing my food.

I kept my eyes fixed on them. I watched them intently as they roughly shoved the chairs aside in the room, looking furious, ano kaya sadya ng mga ‘to dito?

My other classmates moved to the side, scared of them, some stopped what they were doing, and others whispered among themselves, their eyes showing fear and worry.

Ngayon ko lang nakita ang mga estudyante na pumasok sa loob ng silid namin, at mukhang hindi sila dito sa department namin, base sa pin ng uniporme nila.

I sat up straight and leaned back against the chair. I could feel the cold wood of the chair against my back, tinignan ko ang aircon at mukhang tinodo ito.

I carefully placed the fork I was holding on my table and I crossed my arms over my chest.

I could hear the hushed and hurried conversations of my classmates, uncertain about what would happen next.

The air in the room seemed heavier, and every movement of those in front of me became more aggressive, as if they were ready to cause trouble, matagal na rin ang huli kong panuod ng ganito.

I remained seated, silent yet watching intently, waiting for what would happen next.

I frowned when they approached Vin, who was busy copying notes at the front, completely unaware of his surroundings, I crossed my legs and sat comfortably in my chair, watching to see what would happen next. May kasalanan ba ang tanga na ‘to sa kanila? o may sadya lang?

As they got closer to Vin, the tension in the room grew. My other classmates were silently watching, fear evident on their faces, narinig ko rin ang bulungan na basagulero rin ang grupo na pumasok sa loob ng silid namin.

One of the guys quickly grabbed Vin by the shoulder. Vin looked up, surprised, but before he could say anything or react, a powerful punch landed on his face.

Almost all of our classmates gasped at what the guy from another department did. The sound of the punch echoed throughout the room.

Some of my classmates ran out of the room, while others stood frozen, shocked.

I also heard the loud slam of our classroom door. When I looked over, I saw another guy standing outside, acting as a lookout.

His eyes darted back and forth between the room and the hallway, making sure no one was coming, tinignan ko ang orasan ko, mukhang hindi na nga dadating ang first subject namin.

I sat there, still calm, watching as they continued to punch Vin. Nag aantay lang ako kung paano ni Vin bawian sila.

There were about eight of them in the room, surrounding Vin. Some of our other classmates were looking at me, as if they were trying to signal something, but I ignored them and kept watching.

After taking a few punches, finally, Vin started to fight back. He threw a punch at the guy who hit him first, and for a moment, the room seemed to hold its breath.

The other guy, who were with the attacker, just stood there watching, unsure of what to do next.

I grin, looking at them exchanging punches.
