CHAPTER 14
Just then, the classroom door burst open.
Our professor and a few students stood in the doorway, their faces a mix of shock and anger, tila nagulat din ang iba naming kaklase sa biglaang pagdating ng isa sa terror subject namin.
The sudden arrival caused everyone to freeze, and the tension in the room was almost palpable.
Gulat rin ang rumehistro sa mukha ng mga taga ibang department.
“What's going on here?” the professor demanded, his voice booming and authoritative, dahilan para mas lalong naging tahimik ang loob ng silid.
The classroom fell silent, the only sound being Vin's labored breathing and the shuffling of feet. The attackers slowly backed away, their confidence shattered by the presence of an authority figure.
I kept the fork pressed against the guy's throat, my hand trembling from both adrenaline and anger.
The professor's eyes locked onto mine, a mix of concern and disappointment in his gaze.
“Put the fork down,” he said firmly. I hesitated for a moment, then slowly lowered my hand, releasing the guy who stumbled backward, rubbing his neck.
Vin was still on the ground, trying to catch his breath. I went to his side, helping him sit up properly.
“Are you okay?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. Vin nodded weakly, wincing from the pain of his injuries.
The professor approached us, checking Vin's injuries before turning his attention to the attackers.
“You all are coming with me to the dean's office,” he said, his tone leaving no room for argument, at lumabas na ng silid, tahimik pa rin ang buong klase habang nakatingin sa amin.
And the attackers didn't protest, knowing they were in deep trouble. The other students began to murmur, some looking relieved that the fight was over.
Dumating naman ang isa pang prof at kinuha ang taga ibang department.
“Do you need to go to the infirmary? or what? siguro ‘wag na, malayo naman ‘yan sa bituka, let's go,” I said to him, giving his shoulder a strong pat before walking ahead.
When I reached the door, I stopped and looked back, waiting for Vin to catch up.
Paika-ika itong naglakad patungo sa akin. I couldn't help but chuckle as he walked, clearly in pain but trying to stay composed.
“Tangina kaya kong tanggapin ‘tong nangyari sa'kin e, ang hindi ko matanggap ang hindi ko man lang napokpok sa ulo ‘yong matabang ‘yon” he said and when he finally reached me, I grabbed his shoulder and shook him roughly.
“potangama, Jix, ‘yung sugat ko!” he cursed loudly, giving me a light shove. I laughed at his reaction, and we continued walking towards the dean's office.
As we walked through the hallways, the school felt unusually quiet. Our footsteps echoed off the walls, and I could feel the stares of other students as they watched us pass by.
“Alam ko namang pogi ako” Vin said and I laughed when he tried to walk normally and suddenly winced because of pain.
Some whispered among themselves, curious about what had happened, while others offered sympathetic looks. Vin and I exchanged a few words, mostly jokes, to lighten the mood.
“You really know how to pick a fight, huh?” I teased him, nudging his arm gently.
He smirked, wincing a bit.
