CHAPTER 16
It's time to go home, and our professor has also said goodbye.
“Come on, you should come with me, kung ‘yan lang ang napala mo, baka mamaya hindi pa pala sila tapos sa'yo, at mawalan kana ng hininga sa daan,” I joked, tugging on his bag.
“Sandali, ‘yung pagkain ko,” he said, grabbing the plastic bags from the side.
We walked down the corridor, and the students' stares followed us. Bukod sa tingin, ay nagbubulungan rin.
I wasn't surprised, Vin looked pretty beat up. His eye was swollen, his brow was split, his cheek was bruised, and his lip was cut.
“My injuries aren't that bad, pero kung makatingin ang iba, akala mo naman ay pumangit na ako, gwapo pa rin naman ako," he joked.
I kept my head down, trying not to laugh at his battered face.
“Jix!” a female voice called out.
I turned and saw Klea running towards us, waving.
Vin and I exchanged glances, and he shrugged his shoulders. Wala ring malay kung bakit nandito si Klea sa department namin.
We waited for Klea and her friends to catch up to us.
“Good thing, naabutan ko pa kayo,” she said, out of breath, her hands on her knees and chest. I just looked at her and her friends.
“Bakit mo hinahanap si Jix?” Vin asked her.
She straightened up and looked at me.
“I heard about the fight, at nalaman kong galing sa department niyo ang nangyaring away, and you two are the only ones who like to get into trouble,” she said, frowning.
“Mukhang naging sikat pa yata tayo,” Vin said as he looked at me, chuckling and wincing slightly.
“Yeah, famous for trouble.” I answered Vin, and he laughed.
Klea and her friends looked at Vin with a mix of concern and curiosity.
“Vin, ayos kalang ba? You look terrible,” one of her friends said.
Klea turned to me, her eyes wide with worry.
“What happened? I heard it was pretty bad.”
She said, looking at me worried.“Some jerks from another department started a fight.” I answered her.
“Ako ang nabugbog, bakit kay Jix ka nagtatanong?” Vin asks, and Klea immediately turns to Vin, napahawi nalang bigla si Klea ng buhok sa inakto ni Vin.
“Bakit ba kasi palagi nalang kayong napapaaway?” Klea asked, a hint of frustration in her voice.
Vin smirked. “Ang away talaga ang lumalapit sa amin, kahit anong iwas,” Vin responded, and Klea shook her head, clearly not amused.
“Next time mag ingat kayo, baka mas malala pa ang mangyari,” she said, still looking at my eyes.
“I'll keep that in mind,” I replied, looking at her gaze.
We continued walking, with Klea and her friends tagging along.
The crowd in the corridor had thinned out, most students were already heading home or to their next classes.
