Jungkook's pov

I sat in the traffic, spotting Y/N's car in front of me. A smile crept onto my face, making me feel like a teenager in love again. But then, to my surprise, she took a right turn when our apartment was straight ahead. A pang of suspicion hit me, and I decided to follow her, hoping she wouldn't notice.

She parked her car near a park and got out. My curiosity piqued, I quickly found a spot to park at a safe distance and ran to catch up with her. "Damn it!" I muttered, running my fingers through my hair in frustration. I had lost sight of her. 

I was about to head back when I suddenly spotted Y/N with Taehyung. It was getting dark, and there weren't many people around. I hid myself behind a tree, straining to hear their conversation, but it was inaudible.

Suddenly, Taehyung pulled her into a bear hug. I waited for her to push him away, but she remained in his embrace. My heart shattered into a million pieces. I turned around and walked back to my car, feeling both betrayed and heartbroken.

"Why, Y/N? You could have told me! Who told you to give me false hopes?" I yelled, banging the steering wheel as tears streamed down my face.

I sped back to the apartment, my mind made up. I couldn't live with her anymore. Tomorrow, I would find a new place. This was the end of our relationship. I also decided to accept the job in America that my boss had offered me today. I would leave everything behind, once and for all.

As I drove through the city streets, memories of our time together flashed before my eyes. The laughter, the love, the promises—all now felt like cruel illusions. The pain of betrayal was unbearable, but I knew I had to move on. It was time to start a new chapter in my life, far away from here.

y/n's pov

I walked into the park, my heart heavy with the weight of what I had to do. Taehyung was waiting for me on the bench, the same place where he had once proposed to me. The memory brought tears to my eyes, but I knew I had to let go of the past. As soon as he saw me, he asked, "What did you want to tell me?"

"Can we sit?" I asked, my voice trembling slightly. He nodded, and we sat down on the bench. He looked at me with expectant eyes, hope flickering in them. "Actually, I want to give you the answer to your question," I began, my voice barely above a whisper.

His eyes sparkled with joy. "I knew you would give me a chance!" he exclaimed, pulling me into a tight hug. I felt a lump in my throat and didn't react for a few moments, lost in my own thoughts. Slowly, I disentangled myself from his embrace and looked away. "Y/N, what happened?" he asked, his voice tinged with confusion.

"Taehyung, I think you should leave me," I breathed out, finally releasing the breath I had been holding.

"W-what?" His expression changed to one of horror.

Tears fell onto my palms as I continued, "I'm sorry, but I don't feel the same way anymore. I was the reason you tried to end your life that night. I can never forgive myself for that."

"Stop rambling, Y/N. I know the real reason is Jungkook!" he cried out, his voice breaking. More tears streamed down my face.

"Please, let me go. I tried to keep loving you, but over time, I fell for Jungkook. I love him. I hope you understand. You were the one who told me to give Jungkook a chance, and I did."

"Oh, Y/N, just stop it! Stop making excuses! You never loved me in the first place! You only played with my feelings. Don't make things up! I never told you to love him!"
