CHAPTER CONTAINS INTENSE SCENES.__________________________
Y/n laid her head on Ajuma's lap, the old woman's fingers gently stroking her hair. She was a crying mess, her sobs echoing through the room. Taehyung had sacrificed everything for her, and now the weight of his actions crushed her. How could she have been so blind to his pain? He bore so much with a smile on his lips, concealing his struggles. All these days, she hadn't even caught a glimpse of his misery. Now, what good could she do when he was already gone? More tears erupted from her eyes, her body shaking with grief and regret.
[A/N: Taehyung is alive is a secret between Irene and Tae only]
Y/n's pov
"Will he never come back?" I sobbed, my voice breaking with the weight of my despair.
"I'm sorry, dear... he probably showered you with all the love he had," Ajuma replied softly, her own tears falling and landing on my cheeks like tiny, sorrowful raindrops.
"It was all my fault! How low of me to think of him like—" I couldn't even finish my sentence. The disgust was choking me. How could I have judged Taehyung? I had loved him for four long years!
"It was not your fault, dear. You loved him too much for him to take this step. He was afraid of crumbling down his world. And you were his world. He was afraid of losing you," Ajuma said, her voice a mixture of sadness and understanding.
I closed my eyes, unable to bear hearing any more. How much goodness will he show? I felt like trash. I never deserved him!
"I should leave now. The boss might come to check on you," she stood up, preparing to leave. In a moment of desperation, I reached out and held her hand.
"What will happen to me?" my voice cracked and trembled. She looked at me with deep sadness in her eyes and shook her head slowly.
"Stay strong, girl. Only you can punish this demon," she said before leaving the room.
I hugged my knees, my chained hands digging into my skin and likely leaving purple bruises. But the physical pain was nothing compared to the agony in my heart. I cried for the next hour, my sobs filling the empty room. I wished Jungkook was there with me. I missed him so much. Why does everyone leave me?
"Jungkook, you promised to stay with me... where are you? Why did you break your promise?" I cried harder, the tears burning my eyes and the pain in my throat intensifying. Ajuma said she didn't give me drugs, but that didn't make me any stronger in this moment of despair. Exhausted and broken, I eventually fell into a fitful slumber, my body succumbing to the overwhelming grief.
Jungkook's pov
I suddenly opened my eyes, sweating bottles. It wasn't a nightmare—it was the fear of losing my loved ones. I was afraid to loose Y/n. I had fallen asleep as soon as Jin Hyung and I returned home. I was too exhausted to fight. He decided to stay with me until everything was fine, his presence a small comfort amidst the chaos.
Faint voices drifted from the other side of the door, stirring my curiosity. I pressed my ear against the wood, straining to listen. It was Namjoon Hyung. He probably had some clue. I was about to burst out of the room when I heard his words.
"Is Jungkook asleep?"
"Yes," Jin replied.
"Great. It's better if we don't tell him. He's not himself. He'll act hysterically." What the hell! They were talking about my girlfriend! How could they not tell me? Footsteps approached, and I quickly jumped back into bed, pretending to be asleep. Jin Hyung checked on me before closing the door again. As soon as he left, I was back at the door, eavesdropping.
