The room erupted into chaos as the barrels exploded one after another. Flames licked at the crates, sending plumes of smoke into the air. The heat was intense, searing my skin even from a distance. Y/n squeezed my hand tightly, fear evident in her eyes as we searched desperately for an escape route amidst the growing inferno.

"We need to find a way out!" I shouted over the roar of the flames, pulling Y/n towards a side door. The fire was spreading rapidly, consuming everything in its path. Each step forward felt like a battle against time itself, the smoke thickening around us.

Taecyeon didn't notice that his pants had already caught fire until it was too late. The moment of realization was accompanied by a piercing scream of agony, "AAGGGGHHHHHHHH!!" His body was rapidly engulfed in flames. The smell of burning flesh and fabric filled the air, adding to the scene's chaos.

I quickly buried Y/n's face in my chest to prevent her from witnessing the horrific sight. I closed my own eyes, but Taecyeon's anguished groans and moans echoed around the room until there was nothing left of him but a pile of smoldering ashes on the scorched floor. Someone had just pruned to death right before my eyes. Under normal circumstances, it would have taken me weeks to recover from such trauma, but survival was now my top priority.

The room was thick with dark, acrid smoke, and the oxygen levels were plummeting. Every breath felt like inhaling tiny knives. If we didn't get out soon, we would choke to death. The fire had spread everywhere in the lab, devouring everything in its path—the wooden desks, the scattered papers, the chemical equipment—all reduced to blackened ruins.

My eyes stung from the smoke, and I felt Y/n growing heavier in my arms until I realized she was unconscious. "Y/n-ah, open your eyes *cough* Don't give up! *cough* *cough* Wake up!" I pleaded, tapping her cheeks, but there was no response. I had to get us out of there.

Through the thick haze, I spotted a door at the far end of the room. I gently laid Y/n on the floor, her body limp and vulnerable, and stumbled towards the door, only to find it locked. Desperately scanning the room for something to break it open, I spotted a hammer-like iron object lying amidst the debris.

I hissed in pain as I grabbed the hot metal, the searing heat burning my palms. But I managed to force the door open with a few desperate swings. Another wave of smoke hit my face as the door swung open, revealing a narrow path through the flames. The metal hinges screeched in protest as they gave way.

My lungs felt like they would collapse any moment, and my throat was dry and parched like sandpaper. My head throbbed from the lack of oxygen, and black spots danced at the edges of my vision. But there was no time to complain. I lifted Y/n in a bridal carry, her skin cool against my burning arms, and ran through the narrow passage.

At the end of the passage, I saw a light source—the exit! The sight gave my legs a burst of strength fueled by hope. I charged forward, the heat and smoke closing in around us, bursting through the door into the outside world, gasping for fresh air. The cool breeze felt like a balm on my scorched skin as I clutched Y/n tightly, grateful to be alive.

I spotted two figures approaching through the smoky haze. The fire's roar and the distant sound of sirens blurred together, but I didn't stop running until I reached Seokjin. "Jungkook! What are you—" his voice was filled with shock and concern.

"Sa-ave Y/n..." I gasped, each breath a struggle against the burning in my lungs.

Seokjin nodded without hesitation and gently took Y/n's unconscious body from my arms. "Namjoon, check on him!" he shouted as he sprinted towards the car, Y/n cradled securely in his arms.
