Trying something new, let me know what you think. I'm pretty excited.
My head hurts,I must have drank more than I had originally thought. The cocktails at the bar were lethal but it is unlike me to black out, I can't even remember getting back to my hotel. What a way to end my vacation in Paris, I dont even remember parting ways with Greg. Did we ? I open my eyes, the first thing I notice is that I'm not in my clothes and not in my own bed. Was I that drunk that I slept with him and don't remember? I look around the room and quickly realise I'm not in a hotel room, it actually looks like I'm in a hospital ward.
Now I'm panicking, I really don't know how I got here. I close my eyes and try to recall my last memory, I remember sharing a meal with a business man before taking him to a bar then we left to go clubbing but the club was closed. My memory comes back to me in small pieces, he had invited me to his hotel when I tripped on the cobble stone path. The next thing I remember is bright lights flashing in my eyes while being asked in french if I knew my name and where I was.
"Darling she's awake" I hear my mom's voice, I turn to see my parents entering my room trailing a small suitcase behind them.
My dad overtakes her and quickly grasps my hand, he looks tired like he hasn't slept for days. it's my mom's appearance that surprises me, her hair is in a simple ponytail and she's wearing no make up, my mother wears make up everywhere including the gym.
"We were so worried, we heard you had fallen and we're unconscious so we got the first flight available" dad explains as he notices my confused glare.
"What happened" I croak, my mouth is dry. I smile at mom with gratitude as she hates me a bottle of water.
"You tripped and hit your head, the man you were with got you to the hospital and called your mom from your cell" dad explains. My dad takes my chart and starts to read, it does come in handy having a father who's a doctor and is fluent in french.
"They said you will be able to go home in a few hours, all looks good here" dad nods his head as he continues to read the chart
"Who was the man, you told me you were travelling alone" mom of course wants the gossip on my love life.
I find the strength to roll my eyes " we met tonight and shared a meal that's all, I'll never see him again I'm sure"
"I wouldn't count on that, your nurse said he's been to visit you twice today, she says he's a very handsome older gentleman" mom looks impressed.
"Dad tell her to stop, I'm not dating anyone" I argue, dad smirks he knows better than to try and reign in my mom.
"Now I know your not dead in a filthy hospital I'll go make myself look presentable, imagine if anyone from the club saw me looking like this" mom kisses my cheek before scurrying off to the ensuite bathroom.
"You didn't have to get me a private room, I would have been happy in a public ward"
Dad shakes his head and raises his hands in surrender "it was not us, the man who brought you here paid for the room"
"I plan to repay him if he stops by again, are you sure your not dating he sounds like a gentleman " dad adds making me laugh.
"Don't make me laugh, it hurts" I complain.
Dad leaves me to speak to the doctor who loiters in the doorway, I find my cell by the bed and start to look at the messages. I have a handful from my best friend Bree , when I read them I blush.
*** Only you would get a concussion in the most romantic city, I hope you at least hit your head after you came****
***You will do anything to get out of giving a blow job, it's not that bad I promise. I'll give you a lesson when you get home***
*** Taylor wake up and give me the dirty details you bad bad girl***
"I see your awake" a deep voice says, I quickly hide my phone and look up. It's Greg the man who I had shared supper with, for a while I had thought I would go back with him for a night of passionate sex but I guess it wasn't meant to be. It is probably for the best, he is old enough to be my father after all.
I sit up and smile at him, I can't help but to feel self conscious about the way I look. "So was the fall at least graceful"
He laughs before taking the seat by my side "not in the slightest, you fell pretty hard. I learnt that you know some very colourful language"
"Did I cuss"
"Like a sailor, I learnt a few new words" he laughs when I place my head in my hands.
"You must be Greg, thank you for what you did for my daughter. My wife and I are very greatful" dad approaches and firmly shakes Greg's hand.
"It's ok, I've got kids I would hope someone would do the same for my daughter" , I really had been totally out of my mind when I thought he had been flirting, he wasn't interested at all. I really have been single too long, I need to go out and meet someone as I'm so out of practice.
My dad and Greg get on straight away it's like they are old friends, Greg refused my dad's offer to refund him for my hospital stay.
"I must go I have an important meeting to attend before I fly home, I can sleep easy now I know your ok." Greg shakes dad's hand again before turning back to me.
"Thank you for taking pity on an old lovely man and showing me the real Paris, it was a pleasure to meet you. Enjoy your new job"
And just as quickly as he came he's gone and I'm more than a little disappointed.
