Monday morning came too soon, it had been a great weekend. I had truly enjoyed every minute. It had been a weekend I was not likely to forget, I had become a millionaire and I had bagged myself an older man. When I had told Greg about my sudden fortune he had been so supportive, he gave me advice about how to deal with it. My father worked in money so it was already covered but I listened never the less. I had only seen bree for an hour since Friday night so we hadn't really talked about everything but she knew the basics. I know I see her all the time but I missed having her around. I don't know where she was going but when I asked she would snap at me so I had stopped asking.
I was sat at my desk writing letters when I got an email saying that there was a last minute meeting in the conference room and that I would be needed to take notes.
Mr Benjamin called me into his office, he must have just read the email too.
"Last minute email upstairs, mr groves secretary is sick so you will be typing the minutes. I'm not sure what the meeting is about but it sounds important" he said as he tapped his fingers on his desk.
I grabbed my laptop and waited for my boss by the elevator, we traveled to the top floor in silence. My boss was acting strange, he looked nervous.
"What do you think it's about" I asked as we stepped out on to the floor.
"I have no idea but it's unusual, mr groves isn't the spontaneous type. I have a feeling something's wrong"
I hoped he wasn't right, I followed my boss into the large conference room and greeted everyone who mr Benjamin introduced me to. I took the seat at the back of the room and set up my laptop. I didn't see Greg but I knew he had entered the room, everyone got to their feet and went silent.
"Thank you for coming on such short notice, so if everyone will sit we will get straight down to business" everyone did as he said it was truly amazing to watch.
Greg turned and smiled at me, I swear my panties were moist "I've decided that groves ltd will be holding a company picnic this year and if it goes well we will make it an annual thing"
A woman introduced to me as Maggie looked confused, it was like he had asked us all what the square root of pie was. "You were always against company functions, why the sudden change"
I looked down , I was sure it was my telling him about my dads company functions that had changed his mind.
"I had lunch with a friend and she told me that most big companies do throw annual company picnics as well as balls and that they encourage their staff to work to their best ability. If our staff know we appreciate them then they will be happy and stay" Greg answered.
"It would save money in the long run, its expensive to train new staff. If we can keep our staff happy and keep them at grove ltd we will save on training" the head of HR Thomas said.
"Quite. I would like it to be at the end of the month so it will be good weather. I would ask my secretary to arrange it but she's ill. Could you spare Miss White for a few hours a day so she could arrange the picnic. I know her mother is the head of many charities and her functions are enjoyable so I can think of no better choice" Greg looked at my boss for an answer.
My Benjamin couldn't really say no, Greg was his boss after all. "Yes of course , that's fine"
"Great , I have 99 problems but now a secretary ain't one"
I stopped typing and just looked up at Greg, I couldn't believe what I had just heard. I looked around the table and saw all the head of departments looking at him. Most of them obviously didn't have a clue what he was talking about, they didn't have a clue who jay z was.
