The week was finally over and I had 2 days to relax and recover. I had planned on staying home with a face mask and a bottle of wine. Bree had a different idea. My best friend seriously had something against staying home, there was always a party or something we had to attend.

I sat down and curled my feet up in front of the tv, I was planning to finally get around to watching a new Netflix show. Bree pulled at my elbow and insisted that I get a bath so we could go out.

"I've had a long week, I just want to watch tv " I whined, who was I kidding I knew I would be going out. I couldn't refuse. I had zero will power.

"Come on, you can't turn down a party. There will be alcohol, dancing and men. You know how much you like men" bree made a good point, she really was a good sales woman.

"What type of party " I asked, my voice was all serious like my decision rested on her answer. In reality I was already mentally deciding what to wear.

"Just some guy from work, it's going to be totally mental. He's just bought a new apartment and he wants to break it in "her enthusiasm was contagious.

"I'll take that smile as a yes, go get ready. No expensive jewelry or anything that screams wealth" she called as I stood from my seat.

"Why no jewelry, where is this party exactly" now I was suspicious, she was being coy.

"Blyn..." she muttered, I couldn't understand what she was saying. I knew I wasn't going to like the answer.

"I can't go if I don't know where it is, what did you say" I was laughing at her unusually behaviour.

"Brooklyn, so we would be taking the ferry" I heard her that time. I had nothing against Brooklyn but I wasn't a fan of the ferry especially late and night when I had been drinking.

"Fine but we get a cab home and your paying" I huffed.

-------------

The ferry to Brooklyn wasn't too bad, I hadn't been sick down my dress so that was a bonus. We had a short cab ride to the apartment so we were there in under an hour.

The apartment was bare of personality, there wasn't even furniture. The whole place was just packed full of drinking middle aged men, other than bree and I there was only 5 girls.

"Total sausage fest, lets go" I complained. I was happy when bree agreed, she said she needed to find her friend from work so he could see that she had at least shown her face.

"I am not travelling all the way here and not having a drink. Let's find a bar and start drinking " bree ordered as we left. We had flagged down a cab and told him to take us to the closest decent bar.

"I know just the place, do you like jazz" he asked in his thick middle eastern accent.

"Sure, why not"

The bar was dark but the atmosphere was great, the music could be clearly heard from the side walk.

"You get the drinks, I'm going to powder my nose" I nodded and watched her leave.

I scanned through the leather bound menu and was happy to see a large choice of cocktails. I'm a sucker for a sweet fruity drink, of it had an umbrella or a piece of fruit in then I'm all for it.
