Chapter 56: Three favours!

Todoroki POV:
"That should be the last of it." She said after throwing another bag pack out the water. "Are you sure he had all this stuff with him? I don't recognise any of it." He said, while searching through the rest of the stuff. "Yes, I'm sure. Well, if that's all for now I'll be off. Make sure to rest." "Yeah, Yeah. Whatever..." Katsuki stood up. "Thank you a lot Mrs. Nereid" "I told you before call me Elara. Why's your halved friend so formal." "Don't know. Childhood trauma or something." Then Nereid emerged once more and we were left alone.

Katsuki walked over to us. "How's he doing?" He asked. "He coughed up some more water earlier but went back to sleep right after." I answered. "You should rest too." Katsuki suggested. "You mean we?" "We shouldn't feel to save yet. One of us should stay awake." "What makes you think that?" I looked at him. He seemed to be pondering over something. "I don't know. Just... this all seems a bit too convenient." "Convenient?! Have the last couple of months not been hard enough on us?" "Thats not what I'm saying." He sighed. "Kats?" "What?" "This cave is at least a thousand meters under the water surface. The only one that can get in and out is Nereid to whom the three of us owe our lives to. You don't have to worry right now. You can-" "I always have to worry! Because you two won't worry enough. As soon as live gets even slightly easier than before you instantly loosen up." He seemed angry. "Sorry-" "Don't! Just- *sigh* ... Sleep. Ok?" He definitely was on edge but at the same time he was a lot calmer. Just a few weeks ago he was shouting and screaming all the time. Now he barely raised his voice anymore at all. At least not when he was serious. I looked down at Izu, who still had his head in my lap and his arms slung around my waist. Once it went completely quiet I could even hear a silent snore. I couldn't help but smile at the little, green, drooling mess right here in MY lap. "Kats." "What now? I told you to sleep." "Come here for a sec." He walked over to me. "Sit." "Am I your dog?" "Just do it." He sat down across me.

I carefully lifted up the sleeping Izuku. His forehead wrinkled up as I ripped him from his warm nest but the moment I carefully placed him into Katsukis lap he immediately relaxed again. "What are you-?" Izu took a moment to get comfy again. "Tsk. Don't drool all over me nerd." He said in a calm tone in order to make sure he wouldn't wake him up. "Why you give him to me for?" "Therapy." "What are you on about this time?" "You know why therapy dogs exist? They calm the patient down. It's trained to provide affection, comfort and support to people. Did you know apparently they can help you with anxiety, depression, PTSD, stress, loneliness, improved self-esteem, they elevate your mood and can even help individuals develop social skills!" "Did you just call Deku a dog?" "No! I'm just saying when he was laying in my lap like this he had a similar effekt on me. Like those therapy dogs I mean. I just thought it might cheer you up." "Dumbass." "Huh? ...Sorr-" "You guys cheer me up naturally. Even if you're not asleep. Especially when you don't pity or worry about me. Just stay close and I'll be fine." I could see that his cheeks were slightly rosy even though his head was turned downwards as he caressed through Izus hair.

My face felt super warm and I couldn't stop smiling from one ear to the other. I pushed Izu a little to the side in order to make myself some space before getting comfy in Kats's lap as well. I wrapped my arms around Izu and closed my eyes. "Am I your guyses pillow now?" He mumbled. Just a few seconds later I could feel his hand playing with my hair. My tense muscles relaxed.

Bakugo POV:
I opened my eyes. Shit, must've nodded off. Both IcyHot and Deku were still sleeping in my lap. "Damn, they look cute." What am I even saying? I looked around "Awake?" I turned towards the water pool in the center of the cave. The fish was back. "Stalker." "Hey! I was just going to check up on you." I slowly took off my hoody and folded it. Then I carefully lifted up Deku and IcyHot and quickly placed their heads onto my hoody before they woke up. I walked over to the fish.

"So, you guys have a plan?" she asked. "Not sure. Once those two are up again we'll probable keep moving and see where it takes us. But before that could I ask you for something?" I sat down at the pool, right in front of her. "No way?! Are you not only being weirdly nice to me but also asking me for a favour?!" Don't make fun of me! "Shut up!" "I guess not then." Annoying fish! I sighed. "This is really important. And if I were able to take care of it myself I wouldn't ask, ok?" Why are these word so difficult to say out loud? "You ok?" She pisses me off with her pity but I have no choice. "Could you just- ..." You need to stay nice. Don't get mad now. "Alright, alright. This is painful to watch. What is it?" "Well... It's kind of three things." Why is this so hard? "Huh? I thought only ONE favour-! *sigh* Fine, what is it?" Why do I have to ask for help? I wish I could just- "Bakugo?" I hate this!

"First of all there is something we need from the stuff we left behind. It's a diary in one of the bag packs. Without it we can't go back home."
