Midoriya POV:
I paddled and paddled. My chest was on fire. I could barely breath. My vision got blurry and my heart was beating out of my chest. I had to keep going! I could still see land from here and wasn't able to spot the mothership yet wich meant I hadn't passed it either. It was the middle of the day. That meant the moment someone would see me it was over. There was no way they would overlook me! If only Shoto and Kacchan were here! I was scared till deep into my bones. I had gotten lucky with Silver and Charlie being idiots but I couldn't count on the rest of them to be the same.
Where was I even going? Fin had told me earlier to head north but how was I suppose to know where that was? Maybe there was a compass somewhere in these bags? I couldn't stop and have a look. I needed to hurry and get as far away as possible in the shortest amount of time possible.I felt sick. Like I could puke at any moment. I was on no sleep and had to now do such a physically challenging exercise. I tried to ignore my bodys screams for a break. As I looked up to orientate me I finally saw it. Two houses high and three houses wide. And that humongous thing somehow stayed above the surface of the water. The mother ship. I froze in shock. It was way to close for comfort. Right there next to me and filled with thousands of people. I was terrified! I had to snap out of it. But the moment I stoped my body caught up with the exhaustion and I couldn't bring it to start working again.
All of a sudden the people on the ship started to run around on deck. Oh no. They spotted me. That's what it is, right? And before I knew it the mothership had already started heading in my direction. No! Body, move! Can I even still outrun it? I finally grabbed on to the paddles again and tried to get the boat moving again. But no matter how hard I tried the mothership had no problems catching up to me. It got closer and closer. My heart beat faster and faster. What should I do?
Suddenly my boat started shaking as if someone was grabbing onto it from below. What now?! I let go of the paddles and looked into the dark water. I squinted my eyes in the hope of spotting something. And that's when I saw something moving. I held my breath. Some kind of creature was definitely under my boat and before I knew it my boat started moving on its own. What the heck was going on?! Even if this was terrifying me even more I quickly realized that my boat was getting further ahead and away from the mothership. I went faster and faster. So much that I had to hold onto something. I got off the little bench and sat down on the ground of the small boat to make sure I wasn't falling out. I didn't know what to do next and as far as I could assess the situation there wasn't much I could do. So I just waited. I waited to see where the creature would take me, for the moment the boat would stop again.
All of a sudden I heard something big flying into the water right next to me. The little boat I was on started to move around drastically. The waves around me splashed against the outer walls and I got thrown around. Once the waves had calmed down a little, I peaked over the edge of the rickety side of my boat. In that moment I saw a football sized metal ball flying from the motherships direction right over to me. It landed next to me in the water and I once again got thrown around until I landed back on my butt. But they didn't leave it at two. One after the other a new crash got my boat shaking. Soon enough the boat couldn't sustain the damage anymore and a piece of one of the bottom planks broke off. Immediately water started to flood in. I threw one of the bags onto the hole and tried to stop the water from filling it up. But each new crash caused new minor damage to the degree where more and more bits and pieces broke off. I realised that I had no chance at stoping it. Even though the gap between the mothership and me didn't get smaller anymore it also seemed as though it wouldn't get bigger either.
What do I do now?! I felt helpless. Had no clue on what to do. I was just so unbelievably tired. All of my body was aching. I had nothing left I could do but wait for whatever happened next. I didn't have strength left to think. So I leaned back and waited for the waves to reach higher and higher. And once my boat had fully sunk I closed my eyes and let the dark ocean trap me in its depth. As I prepared myself to let the cold water into my body I suddenly felt something around my legs. "It's not your time yet, little one. They're waiting for you after all." I heard a woman say. I opened my eyes and what I saw before me was unbelievable. But not her huge tail but the her scarlet eyes piercing right into me and a smile so warm and full of live caught my attention. She gently formed a cage around my face with her hands and pulled me close before kissing me, filling my lungs with air once again. I was in shock as she wrapped her arms around me. With an inhumane speed she started swimming through the water. I held onto her, protecting my face and closing my eyes to make sure the hard water wouldn't hurt me with how quickly we were moving.
It didn't take long and we came to a full stop. My chest started to feel like there was a knot in my lungs and my head felt like it was about to explode. The woman then started to slowly move again. I couldn't open my eyes but immediately realised the water around us getting even colder and darker. Then all of a sudden we moved up and my head broke through the surface. I got thrown onto a hard ground outside water and instantly started coughing and gasping for air. "Izuku!" A familiar voice echoed through my head. But I was barely able to open my eyes and when I did my vision was mostly blurry. I felt warm arms embracing me and helping me to sit up. "Are you ok?" The moment I was sitting a sick feeling overcame me and I had no time to try and keep the puke in. "It's ok. Let it out. You're safe now." A gentle hand rubbed over my back and in the background I heard someone shouting: "Are you serious?! We told you he couldn't handle your recklessly fast swimming you Haag! You should have been more careful." "And you should be more thankful! I mean he isn't dead is he?" "Huh?!"
I slowly opened my eyes. I was in a dark cave only a couple meters big with a water pool in the middle and a small fire lighting up enough for me to spot the womans head peaking out the pool. Right next to it with his back turned towards me an angry boy shouting at her. A boy quite familiar to me: Kacchan! I looked up. With a worried expression, still holding me in his arms there he was. "Shoto?" My voice was shaking and I couldn't help but start crying in an instant. "Shhhh, you're ok now. I've got you!" He whispered with a smile on his lips. I buried by head into his warm chest and as soon as I heard the beat of his heart I could finally calm down enough to fall asleep.
