Chapter 62: A tumor, a tube and a grin!

Hi, I am so sorry for not posting a new chapter sooner. Apparently Wattpad doesn't work in my region anymore/ right now (seems to be a server issue) and it took me a while to figure out what the problem was (neither the App nor the website was working). Sadly the entire progress of my newest chapter got deleted but I'm just happy it works again. 

I am back now though and will try to continue my regular upload. Thank you for waiting!

Midoriya POV:

The slight back and forth movements caused by the steady trot of Mr Thunderhoof made me remember the exhaustion of the past couple of days and I quickly nodded off. It didn't last long though because only a few minutes later we came to a sudden halt. I took a peak over Mr Thunderstorms shoulder. In front of us, blocking the way looked like a huge blob of skin. It wasn't very tall but quite wide for its size. It looked a little bit like those tumors which grow teeth and hair. Before I could analyze the creature some more Mr Thunderhoof pushed me behind his back with his shoulder. "Hold on tight, Mr Midoriya. And stay behind me. I don't want you to get hurt!" his voice sounded serious. It still had the softness from before but the polite undertone had vanished.

Todoroki POV:

I had been walking around blindly for a while now, taking every staircase going up I came across. I'm nor getting anywhere like this... I thought to myself. But I didn't have much of a choice except walking around hoping to find the other two. As I walked through one off the corridors, looking like all the others, and thinking that it might have been a bad idea checking in here I suddenly heard a loud noise. It sounded like something was crawling through the ventilation system or something like that. The noise got louder and louder. I looked around me but there was no vent far and wide. Then a flap in the sealing opened and in the same moment a person hit the ground. Without wasting a second thought I ran over to the opening, climbed inside and right at the perfect time the flap closed again giving me ground to stand on.

It was completely dark inside. As I stretched out my arms I could feel walls around me. I was in a about one meter wide and long room. Above me seemed to be no sealing at leas not in reach. the walls had no kind of grip or anything. Even though this tube seemed like the one I had come from, my last minute decision turned out to be a bad one. I was trapped.

Bakugo POV:

Take a deep breath Katsuki. I walked a couple meters back from where I was coming from and looked into the hallway splitting off it. No one far and wide. It was hard to contain the pure anger I felt in that moment. I looked at the compass in my hand. Maybe I should head back the way we were coming from. It was probable no use but I didn't know what else to do. And so I walked in the opposite direction of what the needle was showing me in hopes it would actually lead me back. Soon I realized that there was no way it was that easy to get out again and I was just as lost as the extras.

"Deku! ... IcyHot!" no response. Complete silence. A silence that let your hairs stand up straight. My sigh echoed through the halls. I should head back on course. And that's what I did. I went back to following the needle, hoping those idiots would have somehow managed to stay on track and I could find them on the way. Like that I at least could tell myself I had a clue where I was going. On my way I checked every corridor I walked past. I checked all the staircases but nothing. It felt as though Deku and IcyHot had disappeared into thin air. But then I got an idea. I grabbed into my pocket. What laid in my hand made me grin. This should work.

Todoroki POV:

I took of my shoes and socks. I tied the laces together and hung them around my neck. I placed my left foot on the wall next to me. Then I leaped into the air and quickly placed my right foot onto the wall across the other one. With my hands I kept my balance. This could work. But considering I had no clue how long this tunnel was maybe it also wouldn't. On top of that how would I get out once I reached the sealing? There was no use thinking much about it. After all I had no clue what the other side of the tunnel even looked like. So instead of wasting my thoughts I started climbing. One step after the other I made a little jump and caught myself a couple centimeters above the last one. This would take ages. I hoped I could last that long. And then one of my feet suddenly lost grip. SHIT! I slid down but managed to catch myself two or three meters later. My breathing was rapid. I closed my eyes for a moment. Calm yourself. Both feet and hands burned but I had to keep going.

Midoriya POV: 

"I don't have a weapon and am not much of a fighter either..." Mr Thunderhoof said. ".. but I am a fast runner. I will try to get past it. But it might be a rough ride so please, hold on tightly so that you won't fall off." I slung my arms around his upper body. "Alright then. Are you ready?" "I am." I reassured "Good."

Even though I knew he would start running it felt sudden when Mr Thunderhoof sprinted towards the blob in front of us. He was definitely not lying when he said he was fast. The headwind alone made it difficult to hold on. I couldn't see what was in front of us but I definitely noticed when he jumped into the air and landed on the wall next to us. It happened so fast but for a couple of seconds I had a perfect view on the creature. It looked disgusting and cursed. And while we were in the air it tried reaching out to us. But we were to fast and It missed. The stench was unbearable. Mr Thunderhoof  took two or three steps before jumping a second time and landed back on the ground. The monster let out an unsatisfied growl. There was a slimy sound as it turned around to us. But none of those noises could stop Mr Thunderhoof who kept running without a hesitation. Even after a whole minute I could still hear it behind us.
