Midoriya POV:
The wind blew through my hair as I sat there still waiting for Shoto and Kacchan to return. The dark room slowly filed with orange light shining in from the open windows. My eyes were swollen and my head hurt from all the crying. A part of me had given up on either of them returning the other one desperately held on to that option. Over night those two possibilities had slowly stoped fighting, then arguing and then they were quit. Not sure if it was caused by exhaustion or helplessness but for the first time there wasn't a single thought rushing through my head. Nothing to mumble about, nothing to worry or care for. Just me and the floor, the corner I was sitting in and the cabins I was leaning against. All of it accepting me as one of them: a mindless piece of wood waiting to be burned down or abandoned for a replacement. Orange nudged me and I made room for her on my lap. The silence was broken through the silent purring after I started petting her fur. And soon after Spots slowly made its way over as well, crawling up next to me, expecting to be pet too."Still up or up again?" Fin had gotten out of bed and stood now in the open kitchen next to the dinner table and next to the still closed door. "You look rough." He said with a soothing tone in his voice. "C'mon kid, get off your ass. Take a shower or something. Otherwise you'll start moulding in that corner like forgotten trash." I looked up at him. For a moment we were silent. And out of nowhere a far away scream. I looked at the door. Only a few seconds later something breaking. More than one person shouting. "Shit. Not now. Can't tell me it's time again already." Fin mumbled. "What's going on?" I asked but he ignored me. Fin immediately started grabbing yesterday's dishes and hid them as well as clothes lying around. "Get up! Pick up everything symbolising that there has been someone living here in the last couple of days. Hide it. Doesn't matter where." I got off my tired feet. "Wait! What's happening?" I asked while obliging with his demand. "Once in a while fishermen from abroad arrive at our port to deliver to one of the citys nearby. But sadly they're far less generous then they seem. In fact they're live style let us to believe they're pirates. Not only do they trick people into debts, at their arrival they storm through this Harbour and beat up everyone who might pose a threat like other fishers trying to make a living. Then they beat up the fishermens familys, rob them of the small amount they have and damage their boats and sometimes even houses. Usually I would take off with my boat and act like I've been out fishing for a couple of days now. Usually that keeps my damage to a minimum-" a loud noise cut Fin off. "Quick! Hide under the bed. Don't make a noise and come out as soon as they left. After that make a run for it." He whispered while pushing me towards the bedroom. "What about the other two?" "Right now we have other problems! In the rare case that they do come back here, I promise I'll tell them about the situation. Try finding a boat and go north. I'll tell them they'll find you on the next land there. Now go! Hide!" I knew there was nothing else I could do then follow Fins instructions. So as he said I ran into the bed room and hid under the bed.
After Fin had left it went completely silent. Not a single sound except my unsteady breath and the rash beating of my heart. The next few seconds felt like minutes. Then the nerve wracking silence was interrupted by shouting. Then loud noises. I couldn't make out who exactly was involved but I knew it was right outside the front door. Where had Fin gone? A shiver went down my spine. All of a sudden the chaos was silenced by laughter. My hands started shaking. I hoped that what I suspected had not been the truth. Then an aggressive knock. I flinched. "Anyone home?" One said. I stayed quiet. "Last chance!" Another said. "Anyone still inside? If you are and don't come out this instant I'll come in and personally take care of your remains!" A third added. I knew I was outnumbered. Not that it made a difference either way. "Doesn't the old guy live alone?" I heard through the door. "Maybe he has guests. His boat is also gone." "Didn't one of those annoying fishers say he has a grandson?" "First I've heard of it." "Well either way let's just go in and check. We'll get our ass beat if we don't." As soon as they had finished their sentence the door flung open and I could hear the lock hitting the floor. I quickly covered my mouth with my hand. "Uhhhh, Kitty!" I heard one of the guys say. "Don't get distracted." "But just look at- hey where you going?" I held my breath as the little white, black dotted cat sneaked through the small gab in the door and made its way over to me, finally disappearing under the bed. Not long after the door creaked open and heavy foot steps entered. "Here kitty, kitty. Where are you?" My heart beat faster. The steps walked around the bed. "C'mon, I won't hurt you." I could see the black boots walking left and right searching desperately before stoping. Then suddenly one knee was on the floor. Fuck I'm dead! "SILVER! FORGET THE FUCKING CAT! Theres no one here so let go! Viper'll be pissed if we're late again!" "Hm? B-But cat." "NO BUTS!" "Butt here butt there." With a whiny pout and a surprisingly good impression he made his way over to the door. I already wanted to sigh in relive when all of a sudden Spots decided it would be a good time for an adorable "Miau". The guy, apparently called Silver, stoped and turned around quickly. "CAT?! hellou?" My heart dropped. In mere seconds he was back on his knees and now staring right into my face. "Oh, and who might you be?"
