"You ready to meet the family today?" Desmond questioned Sade with a teasing smirk, knowing this was kind of sudden and she would most likely be nervous. She picked the right time to be in town, or at least the right time to stay for a while, being that's it's now been two weeks since she's been spending time with him in Chicago. Desmond just wasn't ready for her to go, but she decided on her own to stick around for a little longer, surprising Desmond completely. He knew she could be a homebody and would still prefer to be back in London, but with the time the two have been spending together, she really wasn't in a rush to leave him.

They needed to spend more time together anyway.

Sade sighed at his question, only because she was a bit nervous though she's never been the shy type. She could be a people's person sometimes, but who wouldn't be anxious about meeting the family? Especially this soon "Are you inviting them over or something?"

"Nah, today's our family reunion so they're throwing a cookout further out somewhere. It's the perfect occasion for you to finally get to meet my peeps."

"Family reunion? The whole family will be there?'" Sade asked with her brows raising just a little. She expected a small little dinner at his parents house with just five people, not some big social gathering where she'll have to introduce herself to half of his lineage. Now, she was even more nervous.

Looking at the uneasy look on her face as she laid there, Desmond rubbed the back of his neck "You don't have to go if you really don't want to. I can see you sweating from here and don't wanna feel like I'm moving fast or pressuring you to do something." He told her, even though he really wanted her to come out.

"No, I'll go." She told him, giving him a half smile only because she didn't know what to expect "What type of girlfriend would I be if I didn't show up to your family reunion with you, when I'm in town."

Desmond nodded "You don't think all of this is happening too fast or anything right? Like you introducing yourself to my folks?" He suddenly asked, though he thought it was the perfect time.

They've been in a relationship for almost six months but around each other for two years, and neither have ever brought up even meeting the other's family. If anything this was long overdue, and it was time for Desmond's family to see just who he was dealing with for a while now. He didn't know when Sade would bring him around to present himself to her family, but hopefully it would be soon so all of this wouldn't seem one sided.

He started to wonder if she even mentioned to her folks that she was seeing someone, but it would be crazy if she didn't.

Come to think of it, Desmond doesn't think his family is aware of him and Sade being in an actual relationship either. It was no secret to them that the two were developing feelings for one another, but no one seemed to know where they went with it, besides the guys in the band. Since they started testing the waters, they've really been keeping things and their business between themselves. Mainly because in the beginning of all of this, their was a lot of back and forth going on, and that would be difficult and annoying to explain to anyone.

"It was gonna have to happen one day, why wait another five or six months." Sade shrugged a shoulder, letting him know she would be fine with tagging along today, and finally introducing herself "I'm sure it'll be nice."

"Aight cool, the main person who wanna meet you anyway is my troublemaker ass little brother, Devin."

"Troublemaker? I wonder where he learned that behavior from." She shaded him, giggling to herself at the face he made.
