The only thing Williamson was not prepared for, was the chaperonage of Lady Danbury and Kate Sharma. Surely, the universe was putting them together in every situation as some cruel joke. He could just hear Delilah laughing at her constant recurrence.
It was safe to say that Williamson was very happy when he spotted Anthony and Delilah about the morning's showcase in the park. Delilah seemed quite happy that morning. But, it was probably because she was with Anthony. She was never in a dull mood with the viscount around. She enjoyed being around all the children present. She enjoyed being with Anthony. She enjoyed showing off her ring.
"It is a lovely morning," She sighed into the day.
She had woken up with a smile on her face, she ate in the sunroom. She visited her mother's grave and planned all afternoon with the last face of Mary Silvester. She had her wedding assembled down to the very details of how she wanted it.
A nice intimate wedding at the church. A party at the Bridgerton home, and then her honeymoon at Aubrey Hall. Just her and Anthony. Until they were ready to come back to London and make their debut as Lord and Lady of the Bridgerton house. By then, Williamson will have moved in with his wife and siblings into what will be the old Silvester manor.
She supposed it would be the Aevery manor then.
"You are in a good mood." Anthony smiled at her.
Delilah laughed, "I won't have to manage estates much longer."
"Pardon?"
"My wedding gift to Williamson is the Silvester manor. I will have no need for it when I move with you and the rest of the Bridgerton family. He will need some place for him and his siblings to come. Giving it away makes our wedding seem closer and closer, and it makes me happy."
Anthony placed his hand around her waist and drew her close, "Well, it makes me happy too. I will get to marry the woman I have had my eye on forever. I want my wife, you know."
"I'm not your wife yet," Delilah laughed.
Anthony shook his head and cupped her cheek, there were stares at them all around. But, now they have learned to block them out. The gliding feather and the viscount. The sister and brother of last year's diamond couple. The love story above all love stories.
Anthony kissed her sweetly, "You will be my wife by title, but you already my wife by heart."
The two joined Violet in conversation. Her eyes looked around for the first time that morning, and then she saw Kate behind a Lady Danbury who was leaving her. The girl looked uncomfortable and sad and heartbroken. Delilah tapped Anthony and nodded in the eldest Sharma sisters direction. When he caught on, he silently let her go while distracting Violet.
"I think by now," Delilah said, "if they were to separate you might rejoice with Williamson, yes?"
Kate looked at her with incredulous eyes, "Delilah, why would you ever say such a thing?"
Delilah made her way over, "They are betrothed. Which means you did not tell her the truth."
"Delilah-"
"Williamson gave a charming proposal and your sister gave her giddy acceptance. In the eyes of society and now the Queen of England they are practically wed. Only a very good scandal would prevent this marriage from proceeding now. The kind of scandal that would send alarms through the entire ton," Delilah said, "It would be a stain on your family. I doubt you would recover with how respected my family is. Only a fool would jeopardize the marriage now."
Delilah took a breath. She watched Williamson with Miss Edwina up ahead. Smiling and laughing together. She didn't think they were the greatest match there was. But, they were engaged. To the rest of the ton they were just waiting for the official title.
