Christina

My heart jumped into my throat as Logan's hard body pressed against mine. His pine and cedarwood scent evaded my senses. The alcohol intoxicated me, and his proximity and smell made my mind dizzy.

Logan nibbled at my earlobe and pushed my body harder against the wall. My hardened nipples brushed against my dress, producing sweet friction.

"Please," I blurted without even realizing.

"I want you on your knees for me," he rasped in my ear.

His words broke my trance, and I struggled in his hold, "You can never have me," I spat in disgust.

How could I get carried away yet again at his mere touch? My body never left any chance to betray me in Logan's presence. I need to have better control of myself. Logan hated me, and he only wanted to use my body to humiliate me further, and I couldn't make it easy for him.

"I will have you in no time, Christina, but I want to make sure that when I own you, no other man touches you ever again," his voice was full of self-assurance.

"I will choose to die before I allow any man to own me," I asserted in a firm voice.

Logan flipped me in his arms, making my front flush against the wall, and pressed himself harder into my back. I gasped when I felt his male hardness at the crack of my ass.

"You will stay away from Chase," he ordered, and I stared at him, appalled, over my shoulder.

"I can't believe this," I exclaimed in disbelief, "you ruined his relationship with his girlfriend, and now you are warning me to stay away from him?"

"You don't know what kind of man he is," Logan groaned in annoyance.

I was done with his possessive attitude. He let Sierra blow him in front of me but couldn't bear to watch me talking with a guy.

"I think I can judge a person myself," I expressed defiantly.

Logan placed his hand on my mouth, restraining me from saying anything further.

"If you defy me on this, Christina, I promise to fuck you right at that moment without caring about anyone's presence," Logan warned in a cold voice, his voice clanking like icicles making me shiver.

"Go to hell," I seethe in anger.

"I rule over it, Christina, and you are the newest occupant," he snickered in my ear and then pulled away from me.

I turned to face him without waiting and glared at him, enraged, "You can try as much as you want, but you will never have my submission," I spat at him and then rushed out of the terrace and into the ballroom.

I couldn't believe his nerve. He didn't hesitate to flaunt his fuck buddy Sierra in front of everyone while he wanted me to not even talk to any man other than him. Logan was a possessive bastard. I remembered how much he hated my guy friends in school and college. While he had girls fawning over him wherever he went.

"Where have you been?" Joan asked the moment she noticed me.

"I was on the terrace with Logan," I gave her an honest reply.

"Is everything alright?"

"I am sure it will be now," I replied vaguely as I saw Logan stepping inside the room from the terrace.

"He is such an eye candy," Joan whispered, checking Logan out.

"I am sure Alex will appreciate you checking out other men," I remarked dryly.

It never sat well with me if any other girl or woman was attracted to Logan. It might be we both were the same in that regard. No matter if we hated each other to our guts, we couldn't tolerate anyone else's presence in our lives.

Joan chuckled at my response, "You are jealous," she said teasingly.

"Come on," I rolled my eyes at her.

"It's okay to have a crush, Christina," Joan winked at me, "he is one beautiful bastard."

"Which bastard are we talking about?" Chase interrupted us, and I blushed, wondering if he heard Joan's previous comments.

"Sorry to interrupt, I am Chase Van Doren," he introduced himself to Joan.

Joan smiled and took his hand, which he held out for a handshake, "Pleased to meet you, Mr. Van Doren."

Joan must have known Chase as she was Jonathan's secretary for years, and they both fell into a conversation until Jonathan texted her. She excused us and headed to Jonathan, who was conversing with a group of men.

"My apologies for leaving you earlier," Chase apologized.

"It's okay, Mr. Van Doren," I replied politely.

"It's just that Talia's mention always makes me emotional," a shadow passed his face.

I felt sorry for Chase and hated Logan for doing something like that. How could he stoop so low to come between two lovers and ruin their relationship?

"I am sorry for what happened," I couldn't help but sympathize with him.

"It's okay, Ms. Williams. It was not your fault. I only wish Talia would have trusted me and heeded my advice before getting hurt," Chase's voice was full of regret.

I was short of words, not able to understand what to say to lessen his grief. I would never wish for something like that, even to my enemy.

"Do you still love her?"

Chase kept staring at me in silence. His features were covered in grief, and I noticed his eyes turning glossy.

Oh my God.

"I am so sorry, Mr. Van Doren. I didn't realize I was hurting you, " I apologized again.

"It's okay, Christina. I don't want any other woman to get hurt. That is why I want to warn you to avoid that man. He is a devil incarnate. He will suck out your soul and then will leave you to die," Chase warned me.

I couldn't even tell him that it was too late for that. It was because of me that Logan had turned into such a heartless monster. I was the reason behind his cruelty. If I hadn't betrayed him, Logan would never have become the man he was. If Chase and Talia were not together and suffered in their respective lives, it was all because of me.

"I will never get involved with a man like him," I assured Chase.

I could feel Logan's smoldering gaze fixed on me as I spoke with Chase. It was clear that he wasn't happy seeing me with Chase, but he could go fuck himself. I wouldn't let him boss me around. He was the one who wanted me at the party when all I wanted was to stay home.  He should be the one to suffer the consequences of my presence.

My cell vibrated in my clutch, and I pulled it out.

Get away from him - Logan

I locked my phone and slipped it back into my clutch without replying. No matter what he thought about himself, I won't allow him to push me around.

My cell vibrated again, and I ignored it. I knew Logan would ask me to stay away from Chase, followed by some threat. When I didn't check my cell even after the tenth text he sent me, I saw one of his team members approaching me.

"Mr. De La Roche asked for you," he informed.

"I will see him in a few minutes," I answered.

I was in no mood to see Logan at the moment. Excusing myself from both the men, I headed towards the restroom. I found one at the end of the long corridor outside the ballroom.

I washed my hands after using the toilet when the restroom door opened and closed behind me. My hands froze when I noticed Chase leaning against the door with a wicked smile on his face.
