Christina
I darted towards the elevator door, which was about to close, but to my disappointment, it shut before my eyes. I was about to turn around and walk to the other elevator when the door opened, and the guy standing inside gave me a wide smile.
"Thanks, you are a lifesaver," I thanked him as I stepped inside the elevator and stood beside him.
"You are welcome," he replied, then added in a teasing voice, "If you are wondering about the name of your savior, it's Ethan."
I laughed at how he introduced himself, then forwarded my hand to him, "I am Christina."
"A lovely name for a lovely lady," Ethan mused.
I pulled my hand from his, fake glaring at him, and he faked being wounded in his heart, "You hurt me, lady."
"And until today, I thought only women have a penchant for drama," I laughed and stepped out as the elevator halted and the doors slid open.
Ethan followed me, asking about my department, and I told him I was an intern at the firm. He told me that he was a Structural engineer in the same company. We both talked as we walked out of the building together, and I laughed at something he said when my eyes met a pair of displeased dark brown orbs. Logan leaned against his car, waiting for me at the curb of the road.
Oh ohh.
From his expression, it was clear that he was pissed seeing me with Ethan. The incident in the stable that day flashed before my eyes when I laughed at something Charlie said and how Logan had reacted. Looking at him, I realized there would be a repeat of that day.
"Boyfriend?" Ethan asked, noticing my silence and looking in the direction I was staring.
"Yeah," I murmured anxiously, wondering how Logan might react to seeing me with Ethan.
Ethan strolled towards Logan before I could stop him and greeted, "Hey, Mr. Boyfriend, please to meet you."
Logan glared at Ethan, and then his eyes slipped behind Ethan to me while I dragged myself to the two men.
"In case you are wondering who I am, let me introduce myself. I am Mr. Savior," Ethan continued with his strange way of introduction, which seemed to piss off Logan more than before.
"Hi," I greeted Logan nervously.
"Hey," he replied in a cold tone.
"You got one hell of a stuck-up boyfriend, lady," Ethan leaned and whispered to me, but it was loud enough that I was sure Logan heard it.
At least the scowl on Logan's face was an indication of that. He still hadn't replied to Ethan's greeting or introduction.
"Logan is just caught up in something," I tried to apologize on Logan's behalf.
"Christina, we are getting late," Logan barked when I still didn't leave Ethan's side.
"Sure, let's leave," I replied, then passed Ethan an apologetic look.
"I will see you tomorrow at work," I said to Ethan, then slipped into the passenger seat where Logan stood holding the door.
Logan shut the door with a loud bang, then walked around the car in angry strides and slipped into the driver's seat, not before passing Ethan a death glare. I waved at Ethan in embarrassment, mouthing a sorry before Logan moved the car forward and joined the traffic.
"What the hell was that? Do you realize how you embarrassed me in front of my colleague?" I yelled at Logan the moment we left Ethan's side.
Logan's arm shot forward, and he wrapped his hand around my throat and pulled me to him. He smashed his lips over mine, and I melted against him.
