She shrinks back into the pillows, as Shivaay walks forward. Gauri grins at her, before walking away with a wink and a rushed explanation about visiting Omkara to let him know about the things he would need to monitor.
As Gauri drags Doctor Morgan outside, along with her, Shivaay stands beside her bed, crossing his arms, as a corner of his lips curves upwards in amusement.
"Hi," she squeaks out.
His eyes soften, as he tilts his head to look at her. "Hi," the words roll off his tongue in a soft whisper.
The different shades of blue—— dark, cerulean, gunmetal and steel—— fascinate her, as they switch back and forth.
His eyes are really beautiful—— her subconscious gushes.
Was I just staring at him?—— she groans internally, mortified.
Husband hain tera. Stare away—— she would've slapped her subconscious had it had a body of its own.
"What did you want to talk about?" Shivaay walks towards the couch, and takes a seat, taking off his blazer. He rolls up the sleeves of his shirt, and opens the lid of his laptop, as she furrows her eyebrows.
"You're working?" She looks pointedly at the device in front of him.
"Hmm, hope it's alright with you," he looks at her with a curious tilt of his head.
"Err, yeah," she nods.
"Ask away, l——" he halts, before smiling. "Ask away."
"Why do you do that?" Her eyebrows furrow.
"Do what?" He shrugs.
"You sound like you're about to say something, and then you stop," she gestures with a hand, towards him.
"Oh," he sighs. "Right." The smile on his face looks forced. "It's nothing."
"No, it's something alright," she shakes her head. "What is it?"
Shivaay runs a hand down his face, as he exhales a sigh. "Before," he pauses, "before you were away, that is," she nods, "I used to call you different terms of endearment." Her lips part in surprise, "I know we're not what we were before." He glances up at the ceiling, momentarily, before looking at her. "And I don't want you to feel uncomfortable——"
"You can use them," she whispers, softly. His eyes widen in surprise. A corner of her lips curves upwards and she chuckles. "I have to return to normal at one point in my life," she shrugs. "Might as well start, right?"
"Yeah," he nods, slowly. "But are you sure——"
"Billuji," she arches an eyebrow.
Shivaay opens his mouth before closing it. A chuckle escapes his lips, and he shakes his head, with a fond smile. "Some things never change."
