"A walk in the park?" She stares at the two, aghast. "In this weather?" She stares out the car window at the thinly veiled layer of snow on the ground. "Absolutely not!"
"Mamma, come on!" Karthik whines. "You agreed!"
"That was before I realised it wasn't an indoor park with central heating," she stares at the two open-mouthed. "Which insane person willingly takes a walk in the park in such weather?"
"Apparently an insane person named Annika Shivaay Singh Oberoi," her husband arches an eyebrow at her, as he smirks in amusement.
She narrows her eyes, "Excuse me?" She crosses her arms in front, "What is that supposed to mean?"
"You just said that anyone who willingly walks outside in the cold at negative three degrees is insane." Shivaay shrugs. "It's ironic coming from the woman who used to run laps around the garden forty times every morning—— even during her pregnancy."
Annika's jaw drops to the floor as she stares at Shivaay, "You're kidding!" Shivaay shrugs his shoulders in reply. "Tell me you're kidding!" She states in disbelief.
"No," he crosses his arms in front, mimicking her stance as a smirk curves up one corner of his mouth.
"Shivaay, I would never," Annika gapes at her husband as she shakes her head vigorously.
"Say what you want, love," Shivaay shrugs, a corner of his lips twitching upwards in amusement. "I'm telling the truth," he bites the insides of his cheek as Annika stares at him in disbelief.
"Mamma!" Feeling a tug on her hand, Annika glances down at the young boy who frowns at her with his lower lip jutting outwards. "Come on," he pouts.
Annika's eyes soften as Karthik blinks his large doe blue eyes at her. She glances at her husband who shrugs, before looking down at Karthik. Bending lower, she places a soft kiss on top of his head before straightening.
"If I catch a cold," she turns to her husband, arching an eyebrow. "I'm blaming you."
Shivaay's smile disappears as he frowns while Annika grabs Karthik's hand and guides him out of the ice cream parlour and towards the car.
"How would that be my fault?" He calls out loudly, following his wife and son.

Annika chuckles as Karthik runs around in the snow, a huge grin on his face. The tip of his nose is bright red, his cheeks red as he squeals in excitement.
