Ruhanika

The car ride was full of Manyu's adorable ramblings. Gosh! My heart can only handle this much cuteness and this little boy keeps on giving more and more of it.

As soon as we reached the school, Papa got out of the car and before I could understand what had happened he had already opened my door and was offering me his hand. Looks like my brothers have learned their gentlemen's behavior from their father!

This time I did not hesitate to hold his hand and went out of the car. I then went towards Manyu's door and helped him out of the car. He immediately held my hand and started dragging me somewhere. I looked in front to see that he had dragged me to meet another boy of his age.

"Di, come on, meet him. He is my best friend, Avyan Singh Rajawat."

The boy looked to be about Manyu's age with green eyes. OMG! Green eyes! He was adorable, just like Manyu. Come on God, Why am I even seeing such cute little boys these days?

"Avyan, this is my big sissy."

The boy seemed shy so I took the initiative and bent down to his height. I waved at him and said, "Hi Mr. Handsome. I am Abhimanyu's elder sister, Ruhanika."

He shyly whispered, "Hello Ruhanika Di. I am Abhi's best friend Avyan."

Just then, Papa came behind me and said, "Oh, Hi Avyan. How are you?" "I am good uncle," he replied enthusiastically. I looked towards Papa frowning. How is it that the shy little boy interacted so enthusiastically with Papa who looked so intimidating and not me? Papa chuckled at my face and said, "He is the youngest son of my best friend, Veer Singh Rajawat. That is why he knows me."

I nodded my head in understanding. Just then I heard a manly voice, "Avyan, you ready?" I looked to the side to see a very handsome man be in his early twenties walking towards Avyaan. I felt my breath hitch. Never in my life, had I felt such feelings. Sure, I had crushes. Every girl has. But this man, he took my breath away. I was looking at him in a daze.

My thoughts were interrupted by Papa's voice, "Anika, this is Veer's oldest son, Arshit Singh Rajput, and Arshit, this is my one and only daughter my princess, Ruhanika Agnihotri." I composed myself and shook his hand smiling slightly. He looked at me intently and I felt goosebumps all over my body and butterflies in my stomach.

Our staring contest was interrupted by Avi's voice, "Bhai, let's go. Bye Ruhi Di." I waved back at Avi and then we went and dropped Manyu off to his class. All the while, I couldn't stop thinking about the man that I had just met.

During the car ride back home, I and Papa talked a lot about our likes and dislikes. It was fun and I also got a chance to spend some time with him which I have been craving ever since I came here.

Once we reached home, I rushed inside excited to meet Darsh Bhai and start our day. On the way, I met Maa who chastised me for running. I, in an attempt to calm her down, held my ears and said, "Sorry" with a puppy face.

"Ruhi, at least tell me, why were you even running so fast?"

"Maa, actually I wanted to meet Darsh Bhai so that we can start today's day quickly."

"But beta, he actually got an emergency call so he left."

"Oh well, I didn't know." I was sad. I knew that I shouldn't be feeling this way because it was his job. The lives of many people depended on him. And in my heart, I knew that wasn't actually upset because he left. I was upset because he didn't feel it important to inform me that we wouldn't be spending our day together.

Maa must have noticed the frown on my face, which is why she said, "Well, I guess it is good that he left. Now I will have you all to myself. We will enjoy a lot together." I appreciated her effort to cheer me up. I was about to agree when I heard a voice.

"What happened Mom?"

It was Nishant Bhai.

"Nothing beta, it is just that Aadarsh has left for an emergency in the hospital, so I and Ruhi have decided to spend our day together."

"Well, I just have a single shoot today, so how about she hangs out with me?" I was surprised that he offered to hang out with me because we hadn't even talked much ever since I came here. However somewhere in my heart, I was a little excited too. After all, he was my favorite actor and getting a chance to hang out with your favorite actor for a whole day? I wouldn't miss that opportunity!

My excitement must have shown on my face because Maa chuckled seeing my face and then said to Bhai, "Well, I guess, it is a good offer." I turned red being embarrassed. God! What will she think about me? So excited just to hang out with her brother! Embarrassing.

Nishant Bhai looked towards me with soft eyes and then said, "Come on, let's go." I eagerly followed behind him waving a swift bye at Maa. We went down to the garage and sat in a Mercedes. Every time I see these oh-so-expensive cars that my family uses to travel, I am hit with a feeling that makes me realize that our worlds were so different till now.

The car ride was silent and I was not liking it even a little bit. I wanted to talk to him. We hadn't interacted much till now, so I was curious about him. After a while, I realized that he wouldn't initiate any conversation with me so I decided to take matters in my hand.

"Bhai, where are we going right now?"

He looked towards me for a second and then averted his eyes back to the road saying, "I just have a single shoot for a brand today and then we will be leaving. After that, I plan to take you out somewhere."

"I have never seen a shoot before. It is going to be my first time. But are you sure that they will allow me to stay there?"

It must have been my excitement or my question which made him flash me a quick smile but it was gone as soon as it came. He then responded, "Don't worry, no one can stop you from staying there."

"Let's play 20 questions," I suddenly blurted out. My cheeks immediately turned red. Oh God! Why did I say that? I was drowning myself in self-misery when I heard him chuckling followed by saying, "Ok then. Let's play." These were the exact words that boosted my confidence and after that I allowed myself to loosen up.

During the whole car ride, we talked a lot about our likes, dislikes, similarities, and differences. We even forced each other to tell the most embarrassing incident of our lives. At the end of the car ride, we were pretty comfortable with each other and it didn't feel as if we had met recently.

He then like all my brothers went outside the car, came to my side, opened my door, and offered me his hand saying, "Come on, pequeno bebê."

I prayed for today's day to be spent without any mishaps all the while wondering about what his nickname for me meant.
