Divyank Agnihotri

Being the first in line to the throne has its disadvantages. My father may be a loving and caring man for his family but he has his own ruthless side. That side of him was necessary to protect his family and people. In our house, he may treat me as his son but there is no denying the fact that he prepared me to ascend the throne strictly. When I was learning how to fight, learning about politics and about business, I had seen a side of him that is scarcely shown in the house.

My training started when I was 10. It wasn't that hard at first. I just had to learn physical fitness and combat but then slowly my father taught me all the tricks, how to play mind games, how to manipulate a person, how to fight against difficulties and strive, and most important of all, how to protect yourself and your people from hungry wolves. It was hard for me. There were times when I wished to give up the throne. But then I thought about my younger siblings and thinking of them made me work twice as hard.

Then in my life, to relieve me of my tensions, God sent me an angel- My Sister. I still remember the day she was born. I was the first person she saw when she opened her eyes and I was mesmerized. No one in the entire family had those eyes apart from me- heterochronic eyes. I wanted to name her Anika but Aadarsh wanted to name her Ruhi. That's when Dad came up with an amazing name- Ruhanika Agnihotri.

She was the light in our darkness. But one day, that light was snatched by the person we trusted the most. After Mrs. Senghal took her, it was chaos. We didn't know, what to do or how to do it. We longed for her. We even tried to search for her, but Mrs. Senghal knew how to play her games. But after a while, we stopped searching for her. Dad's friend, Veer's uncle's wife told us and made us understand that a girl needs her mother while growing up and that we won't be able to take much better care of her than Mrs. Aruna Senghal. Anybody can assume that a mother can take much better care of a child as compared to his/her father.

But, it was wrong of us to leave our princess with her thinking that she would care for her daughter. She made our little princess have so many insecurities about herself. Mrs. Senghal prioritized her stepdaughter over her own instead of giving them equal care.

When Meera mom arrived, we at first had trouble trusting her, but slowly we came to trust her. Then as soon as we realised that we have a mother figure, Dad and I immediately decided to continue our search for Anika. Finally, after two years, we found out about her living in Lucknow with Mrs. Senghal and her good-for-nothing husband. We slowly started causing losses in his small business. However, that was just a form of revenge for taking our princess. We were preparing legal procedures to take our princess back when Mrs. Senghal herself called us. What a shitty excuse of mother? She gave her child to someone else just to stabilize her, her husband's, and her step-daughter's financial condition because they weren't able to enjoy their luxuries if they had to bear the financial cost of Anika.

We were very happy when she came back but ever since we learned the behavior of Mrs. Senghal towards Anika, we are planning to talk with her soon. Meanwhile, there is one more problem at hand. We were planning to introduce Anika and Abhi on Anika's birthday to the world but we have gotten the news that our grandfather's old enemy is again plotting something. This is what we are discussing right now as we wait for Anika to come.

Dad said, "The matter is more serious than we thought." Dada ji added, "I never thought that Sanjay will continue the grudge till now. It was fine when it was between us, it was even all right when he was behind Anant but trying to harm my grandchildren.." I said, "Dada ji, I think someone else is also helping him. There must be a mole in here otherwise, apart from our close ones no one else knows that Anika has returned. I am also confused about how the media got to know that Anika has returned!" Dad then said, "You are right Divyank. There must be a mole. We would have delayed the ball but now that media has gotten to know about Anika, we need to introduce her as soon as possible. Also, Divyank try to find out whether there is any news about Sanjay Vashishth."

Our talk ceased as soon as we heard the sound of soft footsteps. There is only one person in the whole house that has such soft sound of footsteps- Ruhanika.

Ruhanika

Waking up, I was immediately reminded that I will be visiting Papa's office. Never in my life have I ever been inside a company and I was very excited. I quickly finished my morning routine and got ready to go downstairs.

I heard some voices on my way to the living room, but they quietened down by the time I reached. I saw Bhaiya, Papa, and Dadu sitting in the living room. They looked like they were discussing something. Must be something about business! I shrugged and walked towards Dadu first and greeted him, "Good morning Dadu!" Dadu ruffled my hair and replied, "Good morning to you beta!" Then I turned towards Papa and said playfully, "Good morning to you too, my majesty!" He chuckled and then patted my head retorting, "A very good morning to the princess!" Now I looked towards the last person in the room, my favorite person to tease, and said, "Good morning to my knight in shining armor!" Bhaiya heaved a sigh at my behavior and said, "Good morning to the princess."

Just then I spotted Maa coming from the kitchen and I said, "A very good morning to the queen." Maa laughed at my silly antics and said, "Good morning Ruhi." Behind her Dadi also came and I greeted her the same way, "Good morning Her Majesty." She laughed, pulled my cheeks, and said, "Good morning beta."

Maa then said, "Ruhi beta, can you please go and wake up Abhi. He is the calmest and least notorious when he is with you. Meanwhile, I will wake up the rest." I then replied bowing deeply, "As you say, my queen!" I heard the laughter ringing in the living room before I left.

On my way to Manyu's room, I thought about how my life has changed drastically ever since I came here. Earlier my mornings were filled with nothing but taunts from my mother, complaints of Prisha, and scolding, but now I can joke freely. My mornings are filled with nothing but laughter and love. Now, even when I am scolded, I don't feel that I am getting scolded for the wrong thing but instead, it feels that even when they are scolding me, it is for my benefit.

Reaching Manyu's room, I opened the door only to see Manyu as usual sleeping soundly on his car bed. I followed the usual routine of waking him up with some tantrums from his side and then proceeded to get him ready for the day all the while listening to his cute blabberings. I am sure my little Manyu will be a heartbreaker when he gets older.

Reaching downstairs, I spot Nishant Bhai and Darsh Bhai already sitting them. I then greeted them, "Good morning Bhai." In return, I got good mornings from them too. We waited a while for the others to come.

After a while, the rest of my three brothers also came downstairs. We then started our breakfast.

After our breakfast was completed Papa said, "Come on Anika, Let's go!"
