My parents have rejoined their jobs. Wrote it when I was alone at home. This chapter took me a lot of time because I was thinking about how to write it. Involves a lot of emotions. It is a third-person POV.

After the conversation with her Nishant Bhai, Ruhanika was feeling way more happy than she had ever done. In her 15 years of life, she had never felt as assured as a single conversation with her brother had made her feel. She had decided to embrace what life had thrown her way. Sure, she did not have a great family for about 13 years of her life. But now, that she had one, she was going to let them in, breaking all the walls of insecurity that she had made over the years. She was going to build a strong bond with all of them, even her Armaan Bhai who behaved very grumpily with her, but now that had set her mind on that thing, she was going to achieve it no matter what. Her family had already started doing their efforts, now it's time she does hers too.

After their serious conversation, her brother had returned to his normal slightly jolly nature. But she wasn't a fool. She knew that it was a delusion he had put up in front of her. When you have no one beside you to protect you, you learn to protect yourself. She had been protecting herself, her whole life. In her 15 years of life, she had learned to study the nature of any person she was meeting. It was just a reflex. It told exactly how she needed to behave with a person to make them like her. She was innocent, not naïve. She knew that most people come to you for their benefit. She liked to know the mentality of each person and liked to figure them out, so she could protect herself not because she wanted to harm others. And, in the few days that she had lived with her family, she knew that there was a dark side that each of them had, even her mother. But, she was not afraid of them. She knew that they wanted to hide their other side from her and she wanted to give them the satisfaction of thinking that she did not know anything. But, she also knew that they were fiercely protective of her and she prayed for the lives of people who, ever decided to her, even her older family because she knew that these people right now whom she accepted as her family would wreak havoc on every person if she even gets a scratch. At first, she had doubts whether they loved her or not which was why she hesitated in taking a stand for herself. She is not someone who lets the other person belittle her. But, now all her doubts have cleared. The only reason she did not stand against her mother was because she knew that her mother would never try to understand her and also because there was a part of her that considered her mother as her family and craved affection from her. But now that she had her real family beside her, she knew that she could face any challenge that life threw in her way.

Nishant had decided to take his sister to an arcade. He was trying to distract her mind from the incident that had happened some time ago. He hated what happened there, but more than that, he hated himself. No, he despised himself knowing that tears came in his sister's eyes when she was with him. She was his responsibility at that moment and he had let that that bastard hurt her.

He very well knew that she could have taken a stand for herself but she didn't. He saw it in her eyes. She didn't because she was afraid that she could spoil her brother's reputation. She didn't because she thought that her brother would not support her if she stood up for herself. This was the reason that he had told her those things. His father should have been the one to tell her those things but Nishant knew that his father wanted to give his sister some time before he introduced her to royalty. Even now, Nishant hadn't told her the chaos they had brought her into. The royalty and the money were harmful and so it created chaos. And they had brought their little sister right into the middle of this chaos. He knew that they were selfish bringing an innocent soul amidst the power-hungry wolves. They could have chosen to let her live her older life without any disruptions. But, they couldn't control themselves knowing that their sanity was just a few steps away and so they had seized her. But he knew that the little girl whom he adored so much, who was the reason he entered into acting would one day wear this chaos as a crown on her head. She might be innocent right now, but he knew that this innocence, this fragility in her is what makes her strong. She doesn't need to hold a gun to kill someone when she could just kill them with her kindness.

After spending some time with his pequeno bebê, Nishant decided that it was time they departed home. He also knew that his Pequeno bebê was tired and needed rest. The ride to their home was filled with Ruhi's ramblings about various things, mostly her friends, Nishant kept listening to her with rapt attention not liking the fact that she was friends with some boys who could easily snatch her away from them but knowing that her friend really loved her, cared for her and even protected her at times, he led it slide.

After a while, the ride turned silent. He looked towards his side and smiled seeing the scene. His pequeno bebê was sleeping without a care in the world. He parked the car as soon as he reached downstairs and picked his sister bridal style carefully without disturbing her sleep. He made her sleep in her room and left not before pecking her forehead.

He returned downstairs and was surprised to see Aadarsh sitting there on the couch with his hand on his forehead looking depressed. It made Nishant wonder what could have made Aadarsh so depressed because he was the one who was the most kind out of all of them and was mostly happy.

Just as he came in front of him Aadarsh asked, "Where is Sunshine?"

Hearing this, Nishant chuckled. Of course, the only one who could make drastic changes in the behavior of their family members was his pequeno bebê.

Nishant was curious. He asked, "Why? What exactly happened that you are looking so depressed?" Aadarsh replied frowning, "I was supposed to spend the whole day with her. But, I had this sudden emergency because of which I had to leave immediately. Sunshine had gone with Dad to drop Abhi at his school and wasn't at the house. She does not have a phone so I couldn't inform her about me leaving suddenly. Mom told me she looked sad."

"Well you could have just called Dad and informed him but I knew that you didn't think of it in the hurry to attend the patient. Your only way out now is to pacify the angry princess." Nishant chuckled excited to know how exactly does his pequeno bebê throws a tantrum and how his brother would pacify their angry sister.

So, how was it?

Finally, I think that we can move towards the actual plot. No quickly, but eventually. It is not all fluff!
