There was a little girl who always wore a green ribbon around her neck. A boy asked why she wore it, and she told him "maybe one day I'll tell you". So the boy and the girl grew up together, and on their first date, he asked her again, but she just laughed and said "Perhaps one day I'll tell you". So they married and grew old together, but the boy who was now an old man was dying to know why his wife always wore a green ribbon. When the girl was dying in hospital, he asked her one last time. She told him to undo the ribbon, and when he did, her head toppled off and fell on the floor and said "That is why I always wore a green ribbon" and died.
