"Shouta Aizawa, for crying out loud...! P-Pick up the d-damn phone..!!" Hizashi Yamada stammered as he paced in a circle alone on the pavement, his phone pressed to his left ear.

The phone buzzed for a few moments before his best friend answered the call on the other side of the line, heaving a sigh.

"What?" A 25-year-old Aizawa groaned from his apartment, lounging on a couch.

He'd had a long week. Lots of hero work, lots of incidents regarding Kaito needing to be resolved... Shouta Aizawa was reaching his breaking point.

Not to mention that damned Emi Fukukado, constantly bombarding him with her half-assed confessions and jokes after she bumped into him last week.

The Smile Hero just didn't give up, did she? What's worse is that Kaito LOVED her, even commenting once that she wouldn't mind Mrs Joke becoming her mom one day.

Needless to day, Shouta was a blushing, pissed-off mess, and Emi, naturally, could. Not. Stop. Laughing.

Hizashi Yamada, bless his soul, had graciously offered to take care of the little greynette so his friend could have a moment of peace. Unfortunately, it seemed like that peace would be short-lived.

"You told me that I could relax and not worry for the entire day, and you decide to call me when I'm supposed to be relaxing?"

"I know, bud. B-But, uh..."

"What? Kaito isn't throwing another tantrum, is she?"

"That's just it, Shouta...!" The Voice Hero panicked. "SHE'S GONE!"

On the other side, Eraserhead shot straight up from his seat, eyes narrowing. "What do you mean, the kid's "gone"?"

"I s-swear, I turned around for ONE MINUTE to buy some ice cream and she was g-gone!" He wailed. His friend cringed at his loud exclamation.

"You do realise that if something were to trigger her quirk without an adult there, then-"

"I KNOW, I KNOW!" He cried.

Aizawa muttered a few curses under his breath as he strided towards his front door, slipping on his combat boots.

"I'm on my way, stay where you are, Hizashi, she couldn't have gone far."

.

Unbeknownst to the two young pros, an 8-year-old Kaito Aizawa wandered around a random neighbourhood, big brown eyes full of wonder as she scanned the unfamiliar area.
