"Ma'am? Is everything alright? You're awfully pale..!" Nanoman, currently in his civilian clothes, curiously asked the woman on the bench beside him.
He had originally taken the day off to recuperate from his last mission, but wasn't to keen on staying indoors. Instead, the pro had decided taking a trip to the city's largest park. Despite not being on duty at the moment, that wouldn't stop him from helping those in need.
"Ma'am?" Kiyoshi Genshi spoke up again softly.
The woman shakily lifted her head and gulped, "S-Sorry, I'm fine. Its just a headache."
"Are you sure?" He protested, green eyes scanning over her momentarily. She looked to be around his own age, probably a little older, with dirty-blonde hair and a pair of eyes floating beside her head. Her quirk- Genshi guessed.
The stranger didn't answer as the hero inwardly sighed, realising she most likely didn't want to talk about whatever was up. Then, he had an idea.
"Uh, my name's Genshi, Kiyoshi. It's nice to meet you....?"
As you can see, Kiyoshi didn't do very well with introductions.
"I'm sorry if we got off on the wrong foot," he continued quickly. "I was concerned, is all."
The woman looked up and Genshi got a glimpse of her entire face. She looked tired. Really tired.
"Tomie." She answered. "That's my name. Just....Tomie."
"A pleasure." He sent her a smile, not questioning the lack of a family name.
"You're the Atomic Hero: Nanoman, aren't you?" She said randomly after a moment and the said man's eyes widended.
How was she able to tell so easily? He had always assumed it was just too difficult for anyone to decipher his identity outside of hero work, because of how different he looked in his hero costume. Apparently, not.
"How in the world did you...?!" A stunned Genshi muttured. Tomie cracked a tiny smile.
I have a nack for seeing a lot of things others don't. I'm good at hiding stuff, too."
"You don't look like a hero fan." He commented with a small laugh. Tomie only smirked.
"Don't I?"
"Well, not really...!"
"You're right, I'm not." She sighed. "My son is, though. He was always invested in that hero... Endeavour."
Familiarity flashed across Nanoman's face at the mention of his best friend.
Tomie's face darkened at the mention of her son.
Keigo...
She couldn't help it. She wanted to be a mother. But, it was hopeless; for a matter of fact, so was she. She was a broken soul, too battered and bruised to take care of her own child, and barely equipped for the outside world.
