Jungkook rolled his eyes Never mind he said, walking further continued I'm going to sleep. Don't disturb me, I'm already tired enough

W-what about lunch, master? Tae asked hesitantly

I already had it. Wake me up for dinner, okay? Jungkook replied dismissing Tae with a nod

Later that evening

Tae knocked on Jungkook's door Master, are you up? Dinner is ready he called but there was no response.

Tae called out again while standing beside Jungkook's bed, but he still didn't wake up

Mustering up his courage Tae decided to shake him awake. To his shock, he found Jungkook burning with fever.

Panic seized him, and he turned to run for the doctor, but Jungkook caught his hand, stopping him

Don't go, Jungkook mumbled unconsciously.

It's so lonely and it hurts, Mom I'm lonely... don't go...

Tae's eyes welled up with tears at Jungkook's yearning for his mother . Tae understood his pain more than anyone else and he is also aware about the absence of mother's love in Jungkook's life.

Gently, he ran his fingers through Jungkook's hair and whispered, I'm here, master. You're not alone.

With great care, he disentangled himself from Jungkook's grasp, cursing himself for not checking on him sooner. How long had he been suffering in fever?

A few moments later

The doctor arrived and reassured Tae. No need to worry, he's overworked and has a fever, these are some medicines, but I believe rest will cure him much better

Sometime later

Jungkook awoke to find Tae asleep in a chair beside his bed, his head resting on the edge.

This small act of care touched Jungkook and words that he heard unconsciously that he is not alone because Tae is present for him ran in his brain

For the first time, he felt not alone in his illness. Unlike in the past, he was not just receiving medicine but genuine care

Jungkook sat down causing Tae to wakeup

Jungkook glanced at the clock-it was 2 a.m., and he felt hungry What's for dinner? he asked.

Japchae, master, Tae replied

Bring it here. I don't feel like going to the dining room, Jungkook instructed

Tae served the meal in the bedroom. As Jungkook started eating, Tae's stomach growled, embarrassing him

You hungry? Have you had your dinner?
Jungkook asked

Tae shook his head Not yet master

It's 2 a.m. for fuck's sake. Go and bring your plate,Jungkook ordered sternly.

I'll have it downstairs master Tae responded.

Jungkook's glare made him to do bring his plate

They had their meal with each other in a comfortable silence
