"Ariana! Hurry the fuck up bro. Niggas is downstairs waiting for us." He barked making her look up from her vanity.
"Why are you yelling at me?" She turned, rolling her eyes at him.
"Because you doing all of this like it's your graduation."
"It's my first born graduation so yes I'm going to look good. You can go, I'll take my car."
"No. We go together, leave together. That's it."
"So then sit down and shut up and wait."
"Not gon lie stop talking like that."
"After you stop talking to me crazy." She said unbothered, applying blush to her face. "Like Ceremony starts at 9. It's 8:15. The school 5 minutes away, the fuck is you rushing me for?"
"Because I want good seats. You gon be tight when you gotta see your daughter from the last row."
"Whatever." She waved him off, continuing to beat her face. Kay was irritated and nervous all at the same time and Ariana wasn't making it any better.
"What?" She said mugging him as he stared at her. "You can leave me like I said."
"I'm not leaving you bro." He sighed, unbuttoning the top button of his dress shirt and sitting on the edge of the bed. His phone went off and he looked up at Ariana before sighing and picking up.
"Hello...I know. My fault for taking long, we gon be down in ten minutes." He said before hanging up.
"Ma can you hurry up?" He said in a calmer tone.
She ignored him since she was practically done already. Ariana put pins up in her hair, giving herself a final look before picking up her purse. Kay purposely sucked his teeth loudly, walking out the room, which made her chuckle and roll her eyes, following him out.
He took the keys, swiftly leaving the house with her following behind. They were quiet in the elevator, her looking at her appearance in her mini mirror. As they made their way outside Ariana was stunned to see that they had about three cars outside.
"I thought we only had 5 tickets?" She asked turning to her fiance.
"Bro we gonna get low. It's a pre k graduation." He said taking her hand, and leading her to his car.
"You sure? My parents coming, so is your mom and sisters. Plus Giselle. And all of them."
"Yeah don't worry about it baby." He said opening the door for her. He went over to the other side, pulled off with the other cars following behind them.
They made it to the school's venue within minutes, all of them having to go through security. Ariana watched as Kevin handed one of the guards a few bills, as all of them went through with only 5 tickets.
"Hi ma!" Ariana said hugging her mom as both of their mom's were seated next to each other.
"Wassup Mama B." Kay said greeting her mom, then his mom. They got seated, as the program was about to start.
Kevin randomly pressed his lips on Ariana's cheek as her eyes was focused on Kimora who was sitting up on stage with her classmates. Ariana felt her cheeks get warm and felt her stomach go weak. He turned to him, giving him a small smile, forgetting that he was just irritating him a few minutes ago.
The program started with a speech from the principal, that almost nobody was paying much attention to. Then the pre k class sung a song, and then they begun calling names. Considering Kimora's last name was Perez, they did have to wait a while for her name to be called. Kevin and Kimora made eye contact, and he smiled at her. He could tell how shy she was, and the smile did make her feel a little bit better.
"Olivia James." The principal called out making Kevin and Jo look at each other with a smirk on their faces. They waited a few more names before all standing up collectively knowing her name was going to come up. A few people looked at them seeing how deep they were, but none of them cared.
"Kimora Perez." was said shortly before an uproar of screaming was heard from their section. The two were so proud of their child. Even though it was just pre k, Kay was glad to have been apart of her first milestone.
They stuck around to the very end, until they told parents to meet their children outside. When the graduation was over, Kay went over to get Kimora, meeting everyone outside.
"I'm so proud of you baby." Ariana said, snapping photos of her. For some reason she was super shy, smiling and keeping close to her dad.
Everyone got a chance to take a picture with her. Seeing how sleepy Kimora was getting, Ariana suggested they should go home and celebrate later.
Kimora went over to Dougie and Jo, showing them her diploma.
"My niece is getting so big. I can't believe this." Giselle said. Ariana laughed, smiling at her.
"Thank you for coming." Ariana said to Giselle.
"You know I wasn't missing this. I practically helped raise sis."
"And did. Thank you so much. I wouldn't know what I would do without you." Ariana said honestly, pulling her into a hug.
"Bye you going to make me cry." Giselle said gently squeezing her before she pulled away. Before Ariana could respond she felt her get pushed into Giselle. She turned around quickly seeing a white woman walking passed.
"Yo bitch watch out. She pregnant." Kay out of no where said grabbing the lady by the arm. Arianna furrowed her eyebrows, cheeks getting warm as she was getting embarrassed as most were looking at them. She was confused as to why he made a big deal about j when it was a small shoulder bump.
"I didn't push her. What are you talking about?" The older woman said with a smirk.
Kay was about to say something when Ariana stopped him.
"Kay? It's fine. I'm sorry about-" Ari started.
"Nah fuck outta here. Do some dumb shit again."
Jo quickly intervened pulling his brother back. "Kay chill bro." The lady shook her head, laughing as she walked off which made Ariana confused. She knew this was personal, but wouldn't know where Kay would have known this woman.
"Baby it wasn't that serious. I'm fine."
"I don't care if you fine. These white folks be thinking they can do anything. Say excuse me next time because that shit could have been worse. We going home." He said picking up Kimora and grabbing his fiancé's hand.
He thought it was best for him to just leave before he did something he'd regret. Making sure the two of them was in the car, he looked back and saw Kimora yawning.
"You okay?" Ariana asked.
"I'm chilling. Today a good day. not about to let that bother me." He said, pulling off. She smiled softly, his hand rested on her thigh, as she looked ahead. Shortly after Kimora's snores was heard in the car.
You look good." Kay said randomly.
"It's always you look good but you be on me when I take my time to get ready."
"My fault about this morning. I ain't mean to be yelling at you like that sexy." He said looking at her and then back at the road.
"Mhm. It's okay."
