"You getting cold feet? Ariana don't do this right now." Her mom said to her. In front of her stood her mom and her best-friend, as those were the only people she wanted with her in the dressing room on her wedding day."Ma I'm not. I promise. I'm just nervous." She said wiping her sweaty palms against her thighs. She looked at herself in the mirror as the hairstylist was touching up her hair, same with her makeup artist.
From the second Kay asked to marry her, she figured she had alot of things to work on and should start them now. She felt like now she could say she was fully healed from their past, the cheating, the lying, the childish behavior, all of it. She was more than secure in their relationship and felt like she was ready to be with him for the rest of her life.
"Poukisa wap rebondi janm ou? (Why are you bouncing your legs?)" Her mom asked. She hadn't realized she was bouncing her leg, she quickly stopped.
"I don't know."
Her mom sighed and held her hand as they both looked at each other in the mirror. "I know you're scared. It's not about a perfect wedding, but a wedding with purpose." She said trying to get a smile out of her daughter. "You look so beautiful. You really are the perfect daughter." She said.
Ariana couldn't help but smile. Knowing she put her mom through a lot when she first got pregnant with Kimora, her mom never switched up on her. "Thank you ma. That means a lot." She smiled.
"Everything is going to be fine Ari. I can promise you that. Security is letting people in now. The pianist is out there already. Stop stressing." Giselle said out of worry.
"Okay." She nodded, trying to force a smile although she was still worried. "I'm fine."
"Good. I'll go find my seat now. If you need anything, even if you just want to talk, call me." Her mom said, rubbing her thumb over her hand before leaving. Giselle waited til she heart the door close before she snapped her head to Ariana.
"Girl get it together. Why are you so nervous? I never seen you like this."
Ari shrugged. "I don't know to be honest. Can you check on Kay for me?"
"Girl?"
"Please? I just wanna make sure everything goes smoothly today. I want to know if he's good."
Giselle exhaled, holding onto her now 4 month old round belly. "I'll be back."
"Thank you." She said honestly.
