A Tuesday morning, Philani and S'nqobile were getting ready for work,drop Thalente at school then go to work. Sn'qobile was taking the other car and her route to work does not allow her to drop Thalente but Philani has no problem to do so.
Their mother was visiting at his place for a while, to see his son and how he was doing.
"Philani!"She called very aloud.
"Mah!" He whined for a moment and attends his mother. She sat on her bed,eating breakfast.
"ngizwile ukuthi wena noMandisa nibuyelene." She smiled.
"S'nqobile nomlomo!" He shakes his head.
"Yeka uS'nqobile, seng'buza wena." She stated.
"Angazi Mah ngoba uMandisa phela usaxakekile okwamanje but she'll come around." Philani said,fixing his tie.
"Iyona ntombazane engithandile kwami, lovobe obuliletha kimi,ay" She laughed.
"Unjalo ke Mah. Beng'bathanda labantu nje" Philani laughed and decided to take a seat next to her.
"Weeeeee mxm. Waletha umlotha la kwami ophuzayo nokwenza nje, waphinde wang'fahlaza ngonontombi ongaz'thandi aphinde abe inuku. Wena njengoba uz'thanda kangaka,ubungaba yini nje mntanami?mmmmm? bengeke ulunge lapha." She said.
"Yena uMandisa um'thandiswa yini?yini oy'thandayo ngoMandisa Nhlumayo?" He asked.
"Ngizok'shiya ngelilodwa mfana. Uyabom'bona umuntu othandwe idlozi lakini" She sneezed and continued to eat.
"Ake ngik'shiye. Ng'saya emsebenzini" He said,waving goodbye while she waved with her fork.
The two left for work but we know that Philani starts at Mandisa's. Mandisa was outside chatting with one parent in terms of any concern regarding the child.
"Alright ma'am,thank you" Jack's mother.
"Okay,have a great day." Mandisa waved goodbye and walks away.
Philani calls Mandisa,luckily she was just about to enter her floor then her class but reversed and went back. Her smile said everything.
He stood there,suit and tie on point. She comes out with her black shirt and jeans with ordinary flops and her hair done ,no make up just lashes and lip gloss.
She comes in with hands wide open for a hug and him to kiss her cheek.
"And then?ngales'khathi?" She checked her wrist.
"Bek'mele ngik'bone ukuze usuku lwami lube luhle." He laughed
"mxm. Unjani?" She asked,giving him a hug.
"I'm okay,wena unjani?" He asked.
"Ng'right, ukuthi nje nginom'sebenzi omningi today,k'mele babhale amaTests and everything so(sigh)...ngimatasa nje today." She smiled.
"Ungam'limazi umntwana. Yazi beng'funa ukusho ekhaya kodwa bengeke ngoba awuzange ung'nike imvumo" He said.
"Well yeah, okwamanje let's try and take things slow." She suggest.
"Slow?Mandisa mhlampe awuboni ukuthi kunengane lana ezayo and kumele izalelwe ekhayeni elikahle." He said.
"So status is so important to you?what's happened to "let's do our own thing, Mfundo?"! She covered her mouth and looked away.
"Mfundo? WOW, Mandisa." He quickly brushed it off and opens the car.
Mandisa stops him,holds his hand.
"Kushelele ulimi, it was an honest mistake." She begged.
"Ngempela?Mandisa ngyak'thanda nkos'yami kodwa angazi ukuthi ufuna ngenzeni. Okay let's say I wait, but for how long?" He asked.
