Mabel is busy with college in a different state.
Dipper's POV:
It's been five years since Weirdmaggedon. Five years since Bill had attacked us. I'm now eighteen years old and in my first year of college. I came to Gravity Falls to study the life of the paranormal, then hopefully I can finish and publish my book. Thankfully, nothing has changed. Still the same old Gravity Falls. Pacifica is now a decent citizen, not rich or poor. Candy and Grenda had turned into nice young women, already married and with children. Lazy Susan and McGucket had sadly passed away a couple years ago.
Otherwise, everything was normal. Gnomes ran around, digging through trash cans. Unicorns had started to become pets, and mermaids lived in the lakes. And Bill was still stuck in his statue, forever.
Soos grabbed my bags, swinging them over his shoulder. "Nice to see you, dude!" Soos cheered, ruffling my hair. Soos was now the boss of the Mystery Shack. Him and Melody had gotten married and had three kids. "Nice to see you too, Soos." I replied, looking around. Green covered most of the town. It was still a happy and thriving place.
Once we arrived at the house, I was met with Ford, Stan, and Wendy. Stan had lost weight and became more muscular, while Ford was the same. Maybe more nerdy, if possible. Wendy had the pinetree hat and the same green flannel. Not much changed with the Mystery Shack, though.
"Sup, little dude!" Wendy smiled, looking at me up and down. "Jeez, you've grown! You're even taller than me now! Guess the name 'little dude' doesn't suit you anymore, huh?" She elbowed me. "I suppose so." I chuckled. Everybody still acted the same, which was a relief. Ford welcomed me to the table, the fresh smell of coffee and pancakes invaded my nose. "We thought that you might be hungry, so we made you some breakfast." Stan said, opening a newspaper that had beautiful models all over the cover. Ford sat down next to me, sliding me a small notebook. "I heard you were researching the paranormal, so I made a book about everything I've seen over the past five years. Ghosts, ghouls, monsters, you name it." He winked. The cover was rough and blue, and little brown stains were spread all over the pages. I read some of the lines, gasping softly. "Wow...thank you! This information is exactly what I needed! With all of this, I could finish my book by the end of the month!" I smiled, causing Ford to do the same. "I knew you'd like it. But, there is something we need to tell you. Something serious." He paused, looking out the window into the forest.
"Whenever you're in the forest researching, stay away from the statue of Bill. There have been reports of a voice luring people to the statue. It's almost like he's hypnotizing him." Ford scratched his chin. Hypnotizing? That can't be real, I thought to myself. He's dead. Powerless. Gone. "Alright, I'll be careful." I sighed, picking up the notebook and heading towards the woods. He is dead, right?
I sat down next to a tree, looking up at the clear blue sky. Fairies laid down on my legs and shoulders, looking at my journal. "Fairies, nice and sweet creatures. Not capable of harm to humans." I wrote down in the notebook, making sure to list down the different varieties of colors fairies some in. Usually males are green and blue, while females are pink and purple.
"Pinetree~" A slow voice whispered softly. It felt as if someone was right next to me, but there wasn't a single human from miles away. "H...Hello?" I whispered softly, but no response.
After a few moments, I heard it again. "Pinetree, come here~" It called out. Nobody was in sight, so how could this be? Unless...No, Bill is dead. Stan killed him. "Okay, come out. T-This isn't funny!" I turned around, only to see a statue that wasn't there a second ago. It glowed bright yellow as it said, "Pinetree, Pinetree...just shake my hand. All your dreams can come true, if you just shake my hand~" The voice got deeper, more hypnotizing. "...My dreams... all of them come true..." I repeated, looking into the statue's eye. "Just shake my hand, pinetree~" It said in a happy tone. The world behind me started to fade, and all I could see was the statue and his one mesmerizing eye. "A...Alright..." I gripped his cold stone hand in mine. Instantly, blue dust appeared, surrounding me. A demonic, cold laughter came from the statue. One that I knew.
"Gravity Falls, it is good to be back!"
