Taehyung POV
"Hey, Taehyung. Someone's here for you," says Minji, through my phone. As I heard her voice, I quickly glanced at my cluttered desk and felt a pang of frustration. Jungkook had essentially turned my work life into a chaotic whirlwind lately, piling task upon task even after office hours.
"Send them in, I guess." I mutter and hang up. Dragging my fingers through my tousled hair, I take a sip from my water. Jungkook has made me work so much, keeping me here late even after all the other employees have left. He's aware of the fact that I have to go home and help with the wedding preparations and that's probably why he's giving me so much work. A knock on my door, startles me and I quickly get up to open it.
"Hey, Tae!" Ha-yoon exclaims. Caught off guard by his unannounced visit, I struggled to find the right words.
"W-what?" I stammer.
"I'll explain. May I come in?" His gentle smile and polite request were met with a hesitant nod from me before I closed the door behind him, my mind still reeling from the unexpected encounter.
"Wow. You really have been busy." Ha-yoon's observation of the clutter on my desk only served to emphasize the mountain of tasks I had been buried under.
Exhausted, I slumped onto the nearby sofa, allowing my body to finally relax into the plush cushions. "I didn't think it would be this tiring to be a secretary," I confessed wearily, feeling the weight of responsibility bearing down on me. "So, why are you here?"
"I missed you, darling," Ha-yoon confessed with a soft smile, his words laced with a hint of longing. "I haven't seen you since the dinner a few days ago, and with our wedding tomorrow, I couldn't stay away any longer."
"I'm sorry, Ha-yoon, but I've just been overwhelmingly busy lately. The stress from planning the wedding alongside managing my job has really taken its toll on me," I express, rubbing my temples with a sense of weariness evident in my voice.
"I understand, darling," Ha-yoon consoles me in a soothing tone as he approaches and unexpectedly sweeps me up into his arms, settling down on the sofa with me nestled on his lap.
"What-." I start to protest.
"Shh. Just relax." Ha-yoon mutters.
"I can't relax while being on your lap." I say, my cheeks pink. "Put me down."
"Nah." Ha-yoon smirks. "I'm very comfortable like this."
"Ha-yoon, this is my workspace." I reply.
"So? You're my fiancé" Ha-yoon affirms with a sense of possessiveness, he grips my hips digging his nails into me. "And I'm not doing anything wrong. I'm just comforting my soon-to-be husband."
I make a feeble attempt to pry his hands away as the intrusion is becoming overwhelming. "Ha-yoon, please."
A knock on the door startles me, causing my heart to skip a beat as I quickly turned to see Jungkook unexpectedly barging in. His piercing gaze meets mine and then darken when his eyes fall onto our position. Fuck, he's going to be mad. "What are you doing here?" Jungkook's demanding voice fills the room, its tone laced with a dangerous edge that sends shivers down my spine.
In a flurry of movement, I hurriedly extract myself from Ha-yoon's lap, feeling a rush of panic setting in as I hastily straighten my disheveled clothing. "Nothing, Sir," I manage to stammer out, my eyes flickering nervously between Jungkook and Ha-yoon, who now looks visibly sheepish, his gaze cast downward in embarrassment.
"This is an office. I would anticipate more decorum from you, especially considering your esteemed position as the sole heir to your father's company," Jungkook's voice drips with disdain as he addresses Ha-yoon, the underlying threat in his words impossible to ignore. "Kindly exit my building."
