Eira's Journey: The Elemental Chronicles

Chapter eight

"I..... I choose to embrace my powers and save this realm. I do not want to let the darkness consume me". The mysterious woman smiled at her and it was not a sinister type of smile, instead it was that of proudness.
The woman was proud of her? She thought, buy why? She was pulled out of her thoughts when she heard the woman say, "Eira, beautiful child, you have made the right decision and you are going to save lots of people".
Though Eira did not understand most of what the woman said, she nodded her head and asked, "you said I am part of a prophecy and that I am going to save the world?? If any of these is true am I not supposed to know how to do it?. How will I save the world?.
The woman only smiled and replied, "worry not Eira, when the time is right I will come to you again ". After the woman words, she could feel herself scumbling to the darkness once again.
"Eira, Eira..... damnit. Eira, wake up please". She could hear someone calling and shaking her awake. She cracked her eyes open and saw Mike. It was Mike!! She was back to the real world, safe and sound. "Mike, I..... She was not able to complete the sentence before she was embraced by him. "Eira, you have no idea how scared I was when you fell down".
Eira felt a mix of relief and confusion as she hugged him back. "Mike, what happened? I had the craziest dream..or was it real?" She pulled back, looking up at him with questioning eyes.
Mike's expression was a mix of concern and curiosity. "You tell me, Eira. You were acting so weird, taking about prophecies and saving the world. I thought you were having some kind of seizure or something". He shook his head, "and then you just went still. I was so scared, Eira. I thought I lost you".
Eira's mind raced as she tried to process her experience. Was it just a dream, or did she really meet the mysterious woman in the magical realm? And what about the prophecy? She looked at Mike, feeling a surge of gratitude for her best friend. "Thanks, Mike. Just being here with you makes me feel better".
Mike smiled, relief washing over his face. "Anytime Eira. We're in this together, always". As they hugged again, Eira knew that she had a lot to figure out but with Mike by her side, she felt ready to face whatever lay ahead. Little did she know, their adventure was only just beginning.
