****************************"I know you're awake, can you please try to open your eyes for me?" a soft voice says.
Confused, I slowly open my eyes to see a girl about my age, with long white hair and beautiful silver eyes, leaning over me. Startled, I try to move away, only to realize that I can't move.
"Don't worry; you'll be able to move soon." She says soothingly and places a cold cloth on my forehead. "Please don't be afraid, you're safe, and for the most part you're alive." She smiles and holds a glace of water up to my lips. I slowly sip it until it's all gone.
"Thank you for taking care of me, but who are you?" I question as I attempt to sit up.
She helps me sit up before replying, "I always forget to introduce myself, I am known as Demeter Baraka and what's your name?"
I smile, "My name is Keeisa, and it's a pleasure to meet you. May I ask where I am, and how I got here?"
Demeter laughs and replies, "Well I saw you at the edge of the school's forest and you weren't moving so I thought you needed help. I brought you here to the school's infirmary and that's basically what happened."
"You found me at the edge of the school's forest..." I repeated. "Wait, what school is this?"
Before Demeter could answer my question a tall, but frail looking old man walked in. "You are at Verdania Academy. I am the Headmaster of this Academy; it's a pleasure to meet you." The headmaster holds out his hand and smiles at me gently.
I shake his hand hesitantly, "Hello, it's nice to meet you. Thank you for everything you've done."
The headmaster just shakes his head before replying, "It was no problem really. Demeter can you please continue healing her."
"Yes sir." Demeter places her hands over my body and a healing sensation goes throughout my body.
Before I could ask Demeter how she was healing me, the headmaster spoke up. "Tell me something young lady, how did you come by our school? And how did you end up unconscious in the forest?"
I take a deep breath as I try to remember how I ended up there. "Well, I'm actually from Earth..." I pause as I see the headmaster and Demeter looking at me shocked.
"You're the only survivor from Earth? Do you remember what happened? Can you recall how the Earth was destroyed? If so, what was the reason it was obliterated?" The headmaster questioned rapidly.
I avoid looking at them as I begin to explain. "Before I tell you exactly what happened to the Earth, I need you both to understand that I've been alone for a very long time. I lost my mother and then my father turned into a shell of a man." I take a deep breath before continuing. "All I have ever tried to do is survive. I went to a school where I was bullied constantly. There wasn't a day that went by that I was not ridiculed and tortured. You have no idea how tiring it is to constantly be an outcast, to be alone all the time."
"I know what it's like and trust me, you won't be alone anymore." Demeter said softly as she wraps me in her arms, giving me a firm but caring hug.
I smile softly as I hug her back gently. "Thank you Demeter, but you might change your mind..." She gives me a curious look. "You see, before my mother died she gave me her amulet. I love that amulet more than anything; it was the only thing that was good in my life." I reach into my pocket, pulling out the broken amulet to show them. "The people who bullied me finally figured out how to break me, they ripped the necklace off of me and smashed it to pieces right in front of me. That's when I lost it; seeing the only thing that mattered to me was being destroyed by people like that... I was livid." I take a deep calming breath before I look directly at the headmaster. "You wanted to know what happened to the Earth. I destroyed it, and I annihilated vile creatures. I was tired of always holding back because I didn't want to hurt anyone; I was just tired of always being the victim."
