"Keeisa, can you hear me? If you can, move or say something to let us know." I hear Demeter faintly say.
"Demeter... Freya..."I faintly attempt to whisper. I struggle, but manage to open my eyes slightly. Demeter and Freya are silently arguing as Mr. Hartman and the other students just watch, keeping their distance from the three of us. I attempt to speak again, "Demeter... Freya..."
Hearing me, they both quickly turn, facing me with identical shocked expressions. Freya speaks up softly, "Keeisa, are you alright?"
I painfully and slowly sit up, nodding my head slightly. "I think so; I'm just really sore, and disoriented."
"Keeisa, what happened?" Demeter holds my hand softly.
"I'll try to explain it, but first, does anyone have any water?" Freya nods before rushing inside the house, a couple of minutes later she returns with an opened bottle of water. I smile thankfully as she gives it to me, taking a couple sips before setting it down beside me. Relieved, I try to piece together what happened. "Thank you, I really needed that. As for your question, I remember us completing our blood pact. But something felt like it wrong, it was like something was trying to come out. I remember that I told you to get me outside, and you listened, so thank you for that. Then when we were outside, I told you to stay far away from me." I look at them apologetically, "I'm sorry for that by the way, I just didn't want to hurt you."
Freya shakes her head in denial, "there's no need to be sorry, Keeisa, and we understand why you said that."
"It's true Keeisa; don't worry about it, really. Do you remember anything else?" Demeter smiles encouragingly.
I frown in concentration, "Well, all I remember is that my head was throbbing with intense physical pain. I recall being lifted; almost as if I was floating in the air. The last thing I remember was falling. And then I heard your voices and I woke up."
I frown in confusion when I see Demeter and Freya glancing back and forth from my face to the top of my head. Noticing my confusion, Freya nods to the top of my head, "Do you remember those?"
"Remember what?" I look up confused, not seeing anything. I turn to Demeter, who smiles before grabbing my hand, placing it on my... My eyes widen, "W-what is that?" I feel the rough yet smooth surface of something attached to my head.
Demeter smiles casually, "Well, you seem to have grown a pair of horns."
Dumfounded I just stare at her, "I'm sorry, did you just say I have horns? Are you sure?"
"Seriously," Annoyed, Freya produces a mirror, showing me my appearance. "Keeisa, you have horns, end of story."
I stare at my appearance shocked beyond belief at the two coiled, beautiful horns elegantly sprouting from my head. "They-they're beautiful. But I don't understand... where did they come from?"
"I think that I may be able to explain that." Freya and I look at Demeter shocked. She just smiles, before continuing, "I had a premonition a few weeks ago, and in it I saw a young child and as she aged, she began to change. Her first change was that she developed swirled horns just like yours Keeisa."
I look at her more confused than before. "Okay, but Demeter that doesn't really explain why I grew horns."
"You're right, but you didn't let me finish." Demeter playfully scolds as I look sheepish. "Based on everything else that I've seen in my vision, there is one simple question that I must ask you before I can possibly tell you anything. Do you know who or what your father is?"
"My father," I pause thoughtfully, "he was human as far as I knew."
Demeter looks apologetic, "And that's all you know?" I simply nod my head in acknowledgement. "Then I'm sorry, but until you know more about your father, Keeisa, I can't tell you. I can't reveal something that Fate hasn't already shown you. But believe me, you'll find out soon enough."
