"What is going on here Demeter?" King Phoenix questions with a loud booming voice.
Demeter remains quiet, refusing to answer him as the three of us stare at them with seething rage. Not only had they endangered the lives of everyone on campus, they endangered the life of my little brother. I've lost my biological mother, the aunt who I believed was my mother and then I almost lost Jacques, a brother who I have just met. I can't forgive them, not for this.
"With all due respect King Phoenix," Freya stares him down icily, her voice seething venomously. "I recommend you do as Keeisa says and shut up."
King Phoenix stares at her aghast while King Xander gazes at his daughter in complete surprise. Freya continues to glare at the kings; her intense scowl doesn't waver as Demeter peers at her with a serious yet calculative expression painted across her face.
Demeter speaks to Freya in a soft, low voice. "Freya calm yourself, you're getting too worked up."
"I'm getting too worked up?" Freya turns her icy glare on to Demeter, "They could have killed a little boy Demeter! Forget the fact that he's related to our friend, and forget about how he's the prince of a country. He is only a child Demeter, a defenseless boy who isn't even able to protect himself yet."
Solemnly Demeter looks away muttering under her breath in a sad tone, "I know Freya..."
"Knowing this, how are you not as livid as I am?" Freya demands harshly causing Demeter to avoid looking at her.
"That's enough Freya." I state calmly, narrowing my eyes at her slightly when she faces me with utter disbelief etched on her face.
I get why she's so upset, really I do. Personally, I feel the same way that she does. Jacques is my brother, my only brother and he could have died tonight. I want nothing more than to kill each of these kings for being so irresponsible as to endanger a child's life, but if we act without thinking it can lead to more problems. We need to approach this with as much of a clear head as we can.
"Pardon my intrusion girls," My father's deep voice cuts in smoothly, "What is it you're talking about? What would cause you three to barge in here like this?"
I cast Freya a warning glance before turning my emotionless eyes to my father. "Before I answer anything of yours, please answer me this one question. What is going on in here that made your powers spike uncontrollably?"
King Phoenix laughs while glancing at us amused. "We were just discussing who won a small skirmish we had had as princes back when we attended Verdania Academy." He playfully nudges my father and King Xander before smiling at us like it's no big deal.
Instantly Freya's snakes begin hissing loudly as they all stare lethally on their target, King Phoenix. Demeter's eyes harden furiously while her hands clench into tight fists as she stares down the three kings with pure hatred. My reaction, however, was the deadliest out of the three of us.
"All of this over who won a small skirmish that happened in your past..." I trail off as if unable to fully comprehend what he just said.
Less than a minute passes before my built up power surges outwards uncontrollably. My hair begins to levitate, flapping wildly as my eyes glow with fierce malice as I stare down the precious kings. They almost killed my brother because they were arguing over a small fight that they had in the past.
