~Reader's POV~

It had been an hour or  I was getting a little bored and tired of the silence.

"Where are we going exactly?" I ask him, he wasn't completely in front but we weren't completely side by side.

"Somewhere." I roll my eye.

"Where is this somewhere?" I see a tiny smirk grace his lips.

"This somewhere is none of your business." He was playing with me like I had with him before we left, at least he was being a little human.

"Touché." I say to him and it dips back into silence again as I admire the scenery.

"You got rather friendly with that stable boy." I think confused for a moment before realising he meant the little boy.

"You mean that little boy?" He hums in response.

"He's only 6 years old and working as a stable boy, that's wrong." I knew I was stepping out of line but I wasn't afraid for what he could say or do.

"That's royals for you, they don't really care how old the workers are as ling as they do the job. Besides I believe we only took that boy in because he was homeless, his sister had begged before she passed. The only way to take him in was to get him to work, but the other stable boys take care of him." It was the most I had ever heard him talk, and it was quite caring whether he wanted to admit it or not.

"That's not so bad I suppose, you seem to know a lot. Why do you not check on the boy?" He doesn't respond to me and I thought he was finished with the conversation until he spoke again.

"It is safer for him if I stay away, but I do ask the other stable boys." Deciding that that was as much as I was going to get from him I don't question him on anything else.

"You're free to check on him if you wish, our grounds are yours now." I was surprised at how calm he was being with me but I take it.

"Thank you." It officially goes silent from then on for another hour or two until the sunlight dims and I see the tops of housing, I notice Loki lead us towards them and before long we're trotting through the centre with eyes on us. Clearly they recognised Loki.

"Where are we?" I ask him but he doesn't respond rather continues leading us through to the outer edge a little where we reach some stables and a quaint block of apartments.

"Get down." I do as he says with a bit of a grump since I was hungry and that was a rude statement, Loki and I hold the reigns of our horses as we guide them over to the main stable area where a stable boy waits.

"Take care of these horses for us, be careful they're royal horses. Just for the night." I can see him frightening the boy so I smile at him and add.

"Please." I watch his shoulders relax slightly as he nods and smiles back as he takes our horses once we had taken our bags from them.

"Follow me." I turn after Loki who walks to a door at the end of the block and knocking, the person who answered the door looked highly annoyed until they had registered who was stood in front of them.

"Your highness, what can I do for you?"

"Oooo 'your highness'." Loki shushes me to which I smile at having been amused I've wound him up.

"We would like 2 rooms." The man turns back into his room for a few seconds before coming back with a sorry look.

"Unfortunately we only have 1 room left." Loki sighs as the man shakes slightly out of fear to which I step forward and smile.

"We'll take the 1 room, thank you." He hands me the key to which I gratefully accept earning an easy smile from the man as he goes back to what it is he was doing.
