~Reader's POV~

"Y/n you must! It is for the greater good of your family, stop being so selfish!"

~Unknown's POV~

"You do not have to get along but just tolerate each other and put on a show, who knows. You might get along."

~Reader's POV~

"But I want a life! A choice! This is just wrong, we've evolved from this how can you be so okay with this!?"

~Unknown's POV~

"I do not need to do such a thing, this benefits us in no way shape or form except for trade."

~Reader's POV~

"Stop being a brat, our decision is final! We will be meeting them tomorrow, you will be on your best!"

~Unknown's POV~

"Trade is good and maybe this will be good for your image as well, do not forget your place."

-Time Skip~Reader's POV-

It was tomorrow. The day I so dread, the day my life would no longer be mine to guide. We had arrived at the place where my life would change and become somebody else's life, no soul. No heart. This place will make me a shell of who I am.

"Remember Y/n, on your best." My father, a well respected man for his trade except it still wasn't enough for him he needed more. And so we were here, in this sickening situation. He had forced me to dress as a lady would in a dress that meant I could only move and sit in a way I was expected to, it was extremely uncomfortable.

"It is alright querida (darling), it will not be so bad." My mother offers me a calming smile to which I try to return but only half heartedly, my mother was sweet and caring and thoughtful. She understood me so her words meant more to me than anyone's. We finally reached our destination and stand at the base of a grand building, gold all around it was extravagant and you could tell that's what they wanted.

"You must act appropriately, speak only when spoken too. Bow when appropriate and for God's sake please be a lady." I straighten my back and produce a lady like smile as we all approach the grand doors and they let us in, a grand Hall is exposed as 4 people stare down the hall at us with guards lining every pillar. We walk down the hall at a graceful pace and once we reach the end we stand before a throne with a rather old man sat within the chair, a beautifully elegant woman stood beside him seemingly making him stronger. A few steps below a man dressed in a red Cape and a helmet stares us down as he grips his hammer. And a few more steps below him stand a man dressed in green, and dark leather with golden horns finishing off his ensemble. Realising I had gotten lost in my own thoughts again I quickly courtesy as my parents do.

"Rise." We all rise as I stand and fold my hands in front of me not daring to move so much as breath.

"Welcome, I believe we have some business to complete." He had a booming voice, he asserted dominance and power.

"Yes we do AllFather, this is my daughter. Y/n, as discussed she will be the bridge to merge our families and bring extreme trade to your provenance. As you so hoped for." The AllFather looks to me and scours me up and down with his eyes as if analysing whether I was good enough, it made me uneasy as he did so. As all of them did so.

"She is adequate, she'll need to be trained and taught how to live in these conditions appropriately." I start to play with my fingers as they talk about me as if I was not there.

"I think you forget, it is not purely about trade. It is also about the two elephants in the room." The air thickens at this point in time.

"Right, this is Prince Loki Odi-"

"Laufeyson." I glance between the two as I feel their tension intensify but he does not get reprimanded.

"This is Prince Loki Laufeyson of Asgard." I look to who he was referring to and analyse him for attention as he does me, he wasn't bad looking for sure but he was nowhere near a gentleman that much was so very clear. And even we had heard stories of Loki and Midgard, he was a foul man for sure and I was being handed off to him without a blink of an eye. All of a sudden he looked away and stalked from the room, I look down in shame.

"Don't mind him, he is like this with everyone. I'm lucky to get a conversation out of him." The woman walks down the steps and stands in front of me with a kind smile.

"I am Friga, the Queen and their Mother. The other is Prince Thor Odinson of Asgard his brother but that is a sore subject. You are quite beautiful but why are you so uncomfortable?" I look at her astounded but more at ease than when I came in.

"Well, usually I'm not so well..." She smiles in knowing which makes me relieved.

"Well, I'd say the business is complete. Now why don't we get you to your rooms, for now you will have your own until everyone becomes...better acquainted." She links her arm with me as guards lead my parents elsewhere, Friga guides me somewhere else.

"Since you will be living here and are due to be royalty, you will have room amongst the royal wing beside Loki's." I take in her information, I was due to be royal and that scarer me more than I'd like to admit but I would never let it show. This was for the better of my family. She continues to guide me through luxious halls with views of the training grounds and gardens and all the rest of the outdoors of their home it was extraordinary.

"Here, this is your room. We do not know what you like but I'm sure we can arrange for it to be altered to your liking, we have stocked you with dresses but of course I will have some maids bring in some other preferable garments. Do not worry about whether it is traditional or not, change is good and I hope you bring that in more ways than one."    I look at the doors to my room.tbat have guards outside them, all the royal doors do and that does not put me at ease as much as you think it would but I couldn't change it now.

"Thank you." I offer her a small smile to which she returns.

"We will have a banquet later this evening with just a few extra guests nothing formal though, you will be expected to sit beside Loki. For now just relax and feel free to explore." I nod my head before she gracefully starts to walk off down the hall somewhere again, I finally relax my posture and turn to my room I loom to the guards and they don't move or say anything except just let me through. I walk in and what I see makes my jaw drop.

It was a golden, marble room with natural accents. It was split into 3 rooms where when you enter it's like a personal living scenario where all your main items were including doors that lead to a balcony. The other room to my left were doors to an even grander bedroom where everything was neatly tucked and folded. The final room was into a bathroom the size of my bedroom at home, it was gigantic and had a bath sitting in the middle of the room big enough to fit a party. While it was all nice it felt so lonely and spacious I didn't really know what to do with myself, but I noticed the bookshelf along the wall of the living area and I glanced over all the book titles before settling for one of my favourites. I took myself and the book over to the balcony where I sat myself against the outer wall, curled up and escaped into my book, I dreaded the next few days.
