Chapter 17
DELPHINIUM

Time flew by in no time, only after a few months, a lot of things had happened. There were a lot of Uppermoons appearing out of nowhere. The demon slayer corps had lost the Flame Hashira to Uppermoon 3. 'Someone as strong as him was killed...' you solemnly thought.

However, Uppermoon Six was killed, which was great news. 'If we keep this up, in no time, we will be able to beat Kibutsuji Muzan.' you thought with a smile.

"After that then, we will be able to live our lives without worry. How nice is that huh, Ryu?" You think of how much you can hang out with everyone else, you could get to know them better. Smiling at the thought, you felt at peace. Your crow, Ryu who was perched on your shoulder also made a sound of happiness. However, your happiness did not last long.

Wasting no time, you ran towards the Butterfly Estate as fast as your feet could carry you. "Shinobu nee-san!" You called out hastily towards the young woman who seems to be on her way. She turned around to see your disheveled state, huffing for breath. "A Kakushi informed me that Mui-kun and others are injured in battle, and that two Uppermoons appeared? Is Mui-kun okay? What about Master? I—" Shinobu immediately cuts you off with a small smile.

"Both Kanroji-san and Tokito-kun are safe and sound, don't worry about it! If you want to see them, Tokito-kun is resting inside the room just around this corridor. Kanroji-san's two rooms away from him." With that, you sprinted off.

Sliding the door open, you were greeted with the sight of Muichiro sitting on the bed, his whole body wrapped in bandages. His torquiose eyes widened when he saw you in front of the door.

He beamed at you, his whole body radiating happiness. "(Name)!"

You freeze on your tracks and stare at him with wide eyes, confusing Muichiro who seemed ready to accept your tackle hug.

"W-who are you?"

You blurted out.

Silence ensued at your words and a sense of déjà vu gnawed at you both. Muichiro seemed extremely puzzled just as you.

"Oh! Your memories returned? That's why!" Beaming, you leaned on the bedside while happily chatting with Muchiro after several minutes of happy crying and hugging. "I am really glad, Mui-kun."

"..."

You seem lost in thought for a while before looking up at Muichiro.

"If it's okay with you, I want to show you something when you're back in shape, Mui-kun." Muichiro stopped eating his porridge at your words and curiously looked over to you. Setting down his spoon, he chuckled lightly. "Something (Name) will show me? I feel excited." His smile and attitude reminded you of the times when you both smiled ignorantly, like kids should, the sight gave you the happiness and satisfaction of seeing him so lively and happy. You admired his smiling face subtly, causing a smile of your own to appear on your face. After noticing his stare on you, you flushed a bit before pouting, facing away from him.

"A-anyway! How was the battle? You should tell me everything!" You eagerly asked, to which Muichiro chuckled at your curious expression, finding it extremely adorable.

With that, Muichiro procced to tell you everything that happened during his stay in the Swordsmith village.

"Whoa!! Mui-kun fought an Uppermoon alone and won! That was spectacular! as expected of you huh?" your eyes shined in admiration, feeling the rush of pride in your chest for his achievement. Muichiro smiled softly, leaning down to hug you tightly.

Your eyes widened at the sudden hug, and looked down in concern, feeling his body trembling.

"When I was trapped in that water prison, I thought that I'd never see you again. Dying doesn't scare me, the thought that I could never see you again, scares me more." He trembled slightly, for a moment you almost thought he was crying. "When I regained my memories, I realized how important you are to me. It was as if all the feelings I have for you rushed back inside me."

The atmosphere in the room, was full of laughter before, turned bleak in just a few seconds. You wrapped your arms around his body and hugged him back, as tight as you can. "Then, live longer for me yeah? I am not going anywhere."

After a while, you had ushered Muichiro to sleep, claiming that he needs plenty of rest. Closing the door, you head towards the room around the corner.

"(Name)-chan!" The Love Hashira, also your Master greeted you enthusiastically, she seems to be in a pretty good shape, except for the bandages wrapped around her head. "Kanroji-nee, are you feeling okay?" You sat down on a chair beside her, your Master smiled energetically.

"I am good as new!" You raised a brow in doubt, "Are you sure? You fought with an Uppermoon. Please rest a lot." The young woman smiled bashfully before nodding at you.

"Of course!"

On the third day of his hospitalization, Muichiro was almost completely recovered.

"You healed really fast, Mui-kun. It's very strange but also not unwelcome. I am happy when you are healthy." you mentioned this in a passing, to which Muichiro just smiled at you.

Now that Muichiro had recovered, he asked you about the 'something' you want to show him.

"What was it that you wanted to show me?" He asked with a curious expression.

"Follow me," you replied, a mysterious smile playing on your lips. You led him to a place that had a somber tranquility. As the two of you walked through the silent rows of gravestones, Muichiro's steps slowed. His eyes widened as they fell upon a particular grave. It was his twin brother's resting place-the brother who had saved them by sacrificing himself.

Tokito Yuichiro

The name was engraved on the grave.

A flood of emotions surged through Muichiro. He could feel his tears returning, but he blinked them away, trying to remain composed. With a deep breath, he sat down near the tombstone. You followed suit, sitting beside him. Leaning on his shoulder, you have him your silent support, if he wants to talk, you will be here.

For a moment, they sat in silence, the weight of the past and the present blending together as Muichiro tried to process his emotions. Then, the boy turned towards you, his expression softening into a serene smile.

"Thank you for taking me here, (Name)," his gaze softened, his voice filled with genuine gratitude.

Taisho Rumors

(Name) tried to get a new pet after seeing all the other Hashira(except for Muichiro) have one each, but Ryu got so sad and jealous, she never brought up the topic again.

I know I skipped a lot LOL it was like two seasons. If you're wondering why I decide not to add (Name) in season 3, well I initially had the plan of adding her there, but I couldn't imagine or think of where I should add her. I wasn't satisfied with all the other options and ideas I thought of so, i guess it can't be helped.
