Thankfully, the next few days passed without incident. Talk about the Frostheim-Vagastrom face-off seemed to have died down as well. Though, occasionally I caught whispers and murmurs of other students talking about it.
I resisted against my chismosa tendencies. I had bigger fish to fry than deal with school drama.
After my afternoon classes ended, Chancellor Cornelius showed me the way to a white cathedral on campus. Flowers had been engraved on the tops of each pillar. "This is Cathedrale Terminalé. It was recently vacated and no one comes here. You should be able to rehearse in peace."
"Thank you for allowing me to use this place, Chancellor."
"No problem! Oh, do watch your step. There's some damage in some places. I'm having someone come in for repairs."
Ana's sister, Sofia, and her soon-to-be-husband, Kazuo, would be doing the ceremony in private, but the reception would take place inside one of Reina's family's resorts.
With the live orchestra playing, the building's interior would impact the way the music sounded. I could use my stigma to stabilize it, but it would take away the pleasure of enjoying the melody in its raw form. I wanted to get an idea on the acoustics.
After warming up, I began running through my song list. I could already envision the reception taking place. The interior would be decorated to look like an enchanted fairy forest.
The two hundred guests would be mingling amongst themselves with glasses of wine and champagne while a compilation from "Descendants of the Sun" played in the background. The bride and the groom were K-drama fanatics and this was the first one they watched together. Reina and Ana would be running around through the venue, making sure everything was on schedule, while Naomi managed the kitchen staff.
The doors then would part open. "A Million Dreams" would play when the bride and groom made their entrance. While waving to all their friends and family in the venue, they would head to the center dance floor. "A Whole New World" would start to play for their first dance as husband and wife. It would be a memento of their proposal after seeing "Aladdin" on Broadway and how they saw unbelievable sights while traveling together.
The DJ would take over for several songs until it was time for the mother-daughter dance. The guests would dance around some more until the groom had his dance with his younger sister. After several more party hits, the whole venue would be vacated so the bride and groom could have one last private dance together.
As I played each song, I walked through the halls of the cathedral. The broken statues lined against the wall served as my audience. I imagined they were all guests in their most lavish attire. I imagined one wearing white, probably an old "friend" who was trying to upstage the bride. At that moment, Sofia's maid of honor would "accidentally" splash some red wine on her.
The movements of my bow began to slow down when I noticed room to the side. The doors were missing. Sunlight poured through the stained glass windows, the rainbows spilling on the dusty wood furniture. The benches were organized in rows and faced a pipe organ on the front stage. Everything was covered in dust and scratches. One bench was broken in two. A table had been flipped over and carelessly tossed to the side.
Maybe this has to do with the Clash...Whatever happened involved all the houses...and the ghouls were at the epicenter of this crisis. A traitor. A spy? A double agent? Maybe they were being blackmailed. Or maybe they did it out of their own volition. But for what reason? To see everyone fight? It could've been for revenge. For their own sadistic pleasure? Maybe-
My buzzing phone pulled me away from my thoughts. It was the group chat with my siblings.

FanfictionI thought coming to Darkwick Academy would be just like the other schools I attended. I go to class, go on missions, go to bed. Repeat. Now, I'm left with more questions than answers about this school and the ghouls among the student body.
